Autism Parent and Carer Group

Please come along to our parent and carer groups, run as part of Bromley's All-age Autism Strategy Partnership.

  • Find out more about autism.
  • Find out how and where you can get support.
  • Talk to other parents.
  • Share ideas to help improve your experiences.

There will be two sessions taking place for parents and carers.

Session one in person

Come along to a drop-in social communication needs coffee morning.

Changing from Primary to Secondary School Webinar for Parents and Carers

A free, one-off session supporting parents and carers of incoming Year 7 pupils being delivered by Bromley Y.

The session will:

  • reflect on challenges and opportunities for children transitioning to secondary school
  • consider ways to build confidence and promote independence
  • find out about strategies to help your child explore and manage worries
  • think about ways of containing your own worries and emotions about this significant milestone

The next webinar will be delivered online via Microsoft Teams on Saturday 20th July at 10am.

Children and Family Centres

Learn and Play sessions are running out of all the children and family centres (CFC).

The sessions are for children aged under 5, with additional needs diagnosed or undiagnosed and are bookable via the children and family centres. To find out more, email directly at:

Disability Inclusive Swim Sessions

Disability Inclusive swim sessions are now taking place within Zambezi Swim School, with support from Access Sport.

Coaches at Zambezi Swim School have swim teacher training, as well as disability inclusion training – the perfect sessions for pupils who are d/Deaf, disabled, and neurodivergent. This includes children with physical impairments, health conditions, learning disabilities or sensory impairments.

  • When: Every Thursday (term time) - until summer holidays
  • Where: Royal Park Academy, Sidcup
  • Session time: 30 minute classes (5 children and 5 parents per class)

Encounter Worship

Worship for those with Special Educational Needs taking place.

Pulse Disability Sports Club

Pulse Disability Sports Club provides the opportunity for d/Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent club members from aged 8-17 years to participate in an array of weekly inclusive multi sports activities across our clubs in London and the South East.

The sessions focus on fun, inclusive games and activities, with a variety of sports and activities including boccia, dodgeball, multi sports. Sessions are adapted to each young person’s needs.

These sessions are inclusive to anyone who is neurodivergent (including autism and ADHD), has a learning disability/difficulty, visual impairment, D/deaf or hard of hearing, a mental health or long-term health condition or physical impairment. All abilities/disabilities welcome!

Remark Community Parent and Children Group

Remark's Parent and Children group provides workshops, advocacy, social meet ups and exciting trips.

The group is aimed at both deaf parents with hearing children and hearing parents with deaf children. The age range for children is 0-11 years old, primary school age. Siblings of deaf children are warmly invited to join too.

Rhiannon's Cafe

A warm welcome awaits you at Rhiannon's Cafe, a neuro-diverse cafe in Bromley.

Regular inclusive events and activities in a warm and safe space. Meet up with your friends or meet new people.

Rhiannon's Cafe is part of Creative and Neuro-Diverse Innovations (CANDI) Community Interest Company, a non-profit making organisation.

MyClub Junior with MyTime Active

Special SEND soft play sessions at Walnuts Leisure Centre.

SEND soft play sessions are taking place exclusively for MyJunior club members.

  • When: Wednesday 24th July, and Wednesday 28th August
  • Where: Walnuts Leisure Centre, Lych Gate Road, Orpington, BR6 0TJ
  • Time: 3.30pm to 5pm for ages 3 to 12 or 5pm to 6pm for ages 13 to 18

Teen Circuits for young people aged 11+ with special educational needs or disabilities

Get active with a fitness professional who will guide you through a session in the Pavilion Leisure Centre's gym.

Parent carers must stay at all times. Sessions are charged at £6.75 per session.
