our little tribe background

Just a few short years ago our sweet little family decided to chase a big dream. My husband had officially retired as an infantryman from the US Army after 16 plus years of service. We were free to go and do what we wanted in life, very unlike what we were used to. We packed up our big city home, purchased a large chunk of acreage in the back roads of East Texas and started on the adventure of a lifetime with three little kids by our side. Jesus has been so faithful to us throughout our journey as we have navigated what it looks like to truly live out the farm life. Homeschooling, growing our own food and taking control of what we give our bodies has become a major priority. Our tribe has so gracefully learned all about the joys and sorrows, the laughter and the loss, the triumphs and the defeats, the hope and the hurts of life. We've witnessed the most beautiful pregnant goats give birth to the sweetest kids and we've delighted in the fun of eggs hatching open with little chicks and ducklings. We've been ecstatic to go fishing and kayak in our own front pond. We jumped with joy at the sight of strawberries, huge watermelons and wonderful vegetables sprouting from a garden that was planted, prepared and loved on for months. Our tribe has been selling gorgeous farm fresh eggs for quite a while and we've been so very blessed to see the different colors of the rainbow each time we collect them! We raise goats, both meat and dairy, and we're experiencing the art of using raw goat milk in our every day life. It is absolutely the best milk for your body (internally and externally) and what an enchantment to learn all the things we can do with it! Our very first dairy goat was a LaMancha and her name is Peaches. We've welcomed so many new animals in our homestead to include barn kittens, pups, angora rabbits, quail & peacocks. They all just want to join the party in the country! However, we've seen some of the worst losses you could ever imagine. They are heartbreaking. We've cried tears that only a farmer would understand. Yet, the good Lord sees fit to provide us with strength that keeps us going even through the worst of days. This life is so worth it and we're sure glad you're here. Thanks for coming along with us and we sure hope you enjoy all the little things we can offer you!
