Hook Community Primary School October 25th 2024

Dear Parents/guardians,

We have arrived at the end of the longest half-term of the academic year and my first half-term at Hook. I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting pupils and spending time in such a special school. Thank you for your continued support and I hope that you have an enjoyable half-term.

Cross-Country - A massive well done to all of the pupils who took part in the cross-county event on Wednesday. I was so proud of the effort of all pupils who took part and represented our school with courage and determination. There were so many pupils who completed the tough course with a smile and for many it was their first time running! As a team, we were the third placed school overall. I have let the small schools federation know that I will host an evet at Hook in the near future and I look forward to working with the community and parents to arrange this.

A special well done to all of the pupil who achieved a medal. A special mention to Gethin in year six who won his race overall. Gethin was a very humble and respectful winner. Da iawn Gethin!

Smart Phone Consultation - Thank you for completing the Smart Phone Consultation. The overwhelming response supported the implementation of a smart phone free school policy. I will share this information with governors and provide parents with an update in the near future.

Attendance

Well done to Dolffin who have achieved 100% again this week.

Chess Information

Christmas Dates

  • Christmas Concerts will be held on: Morning of the 9th December; afternoon of 10th December and after school that day; afternoon of 11th December and after school.

Residential Information

Years five and six will have the opportunity to visit the URDD centre in Llangrannog this year. We will be visiting between April 30th and May 2nd. To reduce costs, we will be travelling with Johnston School but pupils will not be mixed in rooms or activities. I will accompany both schools for the visit. Residentials are always one of my favourite weeks of the year. We will send out a letter with all of the information as soon as we have it available.

Year four pupils will have an opportunity to camp for a night some time around the 21st June. I haven't decided all of the details yet but the costs for this will be very low.

New Lunch Menu

As ever, if there is anything that I can help with, my email address is Williamsr1688@hwbcymru.net

Kind regards,

Mr Williams.

Music Information
