SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA STATE SOCCER - UMARY
LAST TIME OUT
- The Southwest Minnesota State women's soccer team was defeated Friday Night at the hands of the Minot State Beavers by a score of 4-0.
- Minot State outshot the Mustangs 21-13, with 10 on target for the Beavers, and two on target for SMSU. Minot State also slightly out-possessed SMSU, earning 51% possession in the match.
- Jada Backes led the team in shots with four, while Brooke Wetterstrom and Karla Paredes-Nino were the two Mustangs with shots on target.
HEAD COACH CLAY GLASGOW
- Clay Glasgow is in his fourth season as head coach and has a record of 13-43-10 overall, including 12-34-7 in NSIC play. He was hired as the sixth head coach in program history on Feb. 25, 2022.
- Glasgow came to SMSU after spending eight seasons (2014-21) as head women's soccer coach at Dakota Wesleyan University (S.D.) recording a mark of 49-86-5.
- During his last two seasons at DWU, the Tigers amassed back-to-back winning seasons and qualified for the Great Plains Athletic Conference Tournament both seasons.

- UMary and SMSU will meet for the 23rd time on Sunday, with the Marauders holding a 17-4-1 advantage all time.
- Last year's matchup, played in Marshall, resulted in a 0-0 tie. SMSU's last win against UMary came in 2016.
- The Marauders are 6-5-3 on the season, and 4-4-3 in the NSIC. The Marauders won 5-0 over Jamestown in Bismarck on Friday, before dropping Sunday's match against Northern State 3-2.
- UMary is coached by Sarah Cook in her 14th season at the school.
- Freshman midfielder Dina Polanco has scored eight goals for the Marauders this season, and has 19 shots on target, leading the team in both categories.
TEAM LEADERS
- Senior forward Brooke Wetterstrom currently leads the Mustangs in goals with three, while freshman Virginia Pruitt has two.
- Sophomore forward Jada Backes and Wetterstrom lead the team in shots on goal with nine on the season.
- Kennady Krebs has a .733 save percentage on the season, making 66 saves throughout the season.
NEXT WEEK
- The Mustangs will be on their final away trip of the season next weekend.
- SMSU first travels east to face Winona State on Friday, Oct. 31, at 5 p.m.
- The Mustangs then travel to St. Paul to matchup against Concordia-St. Paul on Nov. 2, at 1 p.m.

- SMSU is in its 30th season of soccer in 2025 and 29th season of competition (2020 was canceled).
- The Mustangs have compiled an all-time record of 167-321-39, including 121-189-26 in NSIC games.
- SMSU has made 14 NSIC tournaments and played in the region championship of the NCAA Tournament in 2013.
- SMSU has recorded four winning seasons in program history with the last coming in 2019.
