Week of November 25-29, 2024
Principal Message
We had our first full week of school in a few weeks and it was busy! There were field trips to Fort Edmonton Park and a visit from the craft caravan. Next week, we are looking forward to welcoming families to our Parent Teacher Interview afternoon/evening on Wednesday and our Movie PM on Friday afternoon in support of the ECSD Foundation. A reminder that the cold weather has arrived and students should be dressing for the weather!
Have a wonderful, WARM weekend!

Parent Teacher Interviews
Our Parent teacher conferences will be this Thursday, November 28th. We have a lot to celebrate here at St. Paul regarding teaching and learning. Reminder that this round is parents only; students will attend in March alongside parents for our Demonstration of learning!
If you still require a booking with your child's teacher, please click HERE.
Parent Council Meeting
Our next SAC meeting is Wednesday December 4th at 6:30 PM. This meeting will take place in the Kindergarten classroom across from the Learning Commons. We will be sharing updates on the school, upcoming initiatives and fundraising - we hope you will join us!
christmas Concert- mark your calendars!
Our Christmas Concert will be held on Tuesday December 17, 2024 at St. John the Evangelist Church at 6:30 PM. We are in full preparation for this magical event. More details to follow in the coming weeks!
Cold and Inclement weather
Decisions regarding outdoor activities take into consideration inclement weather which may result from the following conditions:
Continuous rain
Extreme wind
Extreme cold
Air quality
The suggested guideline is students do not go outside if the temperature is –20 C or colder, or if the temperature and windchill factor combined are –20 C or colder. Air quality is to be monitored similar to extreme cold temperatures. The suggested guideline is that students do not go outside when air quality reaches an index of 7 or more.
Students will continue to go outside for recess unless the weather reaches –20C. Remind your child to wear clothing appropriate for the weather conditions.
As a province, schools have now been cell phone-free for two months. We would like to thank you for supporting this initiative by reinforcing the school policies with your children at home.
A reminder that if you need to contact your child during the school day, please call the office and we will ensure that your child receives the message.
St. Paul SAC Purdy's Fundraiser
A reminder that the fundraiser closes Sunday, November 24th for December 8th pick up.

Student Pick Ups/Drop Offs
When dropping off/picking up students, please use the designated drop off zones. These are 96 Ave (in front of the school) and 145 Street (the west side of the school).
Please DO NOT use the staff parking lot for student drop offs or pick ups. There are a lot of blind spots and vehicles coming in and out of the lot. Our garbage bin was unable to be emptied this week as vehicles were blocking the bins and the garbage truck was unable to access our bins.
Please choose safety over convenience and use marked cross walks and drop off zones to ensure students arrive safely to and from school.
Thank you for your cooperation!
