OVER 800 YEARS OF HISTORY
Situated in the heart of the Cathedral City of Exeter, with more than 800 years of history, the Guildhall is an idyllic venue for your blossoming love story to grow.
The stunning roof timbers and walls date back to the 15th Century. A majestic brass chandelier hangs from the centre of the roof, which glistens against the magnificent Victorian stained-glass windows, giving the perfect backdrop to capture your special day.
Having kept the core of its historic structure, the building has been renovated to reflect much of its original grandeur and is now recognised as a Grade I listed building. The building survived the devastating blitz bombing during the Second World War after being protected by a tunnel of bricks and sandbags, leaving us with one of the most storied buildings in the country.
The Guildhall is one of the most ancient municipal buildings in England. It has played host to royalty, dignitaries and been the home of civic government for the best part of a millennium, and you can etch your name in its storied history forever by commemorating your marriage or civil partnership here.
THE GREAT HALL
The Great Hall boasts beautiful oak panelling and a towering ceiling, giving your special day the perfect balance of elegant and history. The room can accommodate up to 80 guests, creating the ideal venue for a joyous occasion shared with a large party of friends and family.

THE JURY ROOM
The Jury Room is a venue that has deep rooted historical importance, having originally stored the city’s records. It went on to house the jury of the court, who would use it to deliberate the outcome of the city’s court cases. The last of which happened in 1971. With a mesmerising Victorian interior decorated with large classical paintings of former dignitaries and influential figures. This enchanting room offers space for 35 people, the perfect venue for a more intimate celebration.
