A STRANGE NIGHT A fundrave series by Awkward Moments

‘A STRANGE NIGHT’ hosted by London-based duo Awkward Moments – comprising of electronic composer & DJ Mimi Xu, and multi-instrumentalist & lead vocalist MAGUIRE – is a satellite performance series that builds an inclusive community around intimate good vibes. Always unannounced and unexpected, a carefully curated lineup of diverse sonic experiences takes the audience on a collective journey of fun, discovery, and awkwardness in the most off beat and underground venues with a particular emphasis on exceptional sound quality.

Built on humanitarian goals from the start, Awkward Moments was born out of a charity event – from their first show raising money for the refugee crisis, to all subsequent club nights being in aid of charities close to their hearts such as Choose Love, Choose Earth, In Place of War, Arts Emergency, Earth Percent and most recently Albert Kennedy Trust. With fundraising at its core, the aim of ‘A Strange Night’ is to build an environment of connection and diversity that breaks down barriers in these increasingly divisive times.

The events have seen DJ sets from 2ManyDJ’s, Craig Richards, Hannah Holland, Joe Goddard, Benji B, Ewan Pearson, Tom VR, Paul Simonon (The Clash), Ghost Culture, James Massiah, Shay Malt, Peter Adjaye, Cooly G, Bekefi, Sarra Wild, Reenie, and Maya Jane Coles; plus live performances from Illa J, Sarah Nimmo, Falle Nioke, Rose Gray, Daria Blum, Nah Eeto, Laima, and Tom Rasmussen among many others.
