2nd Annual Larson Global Shoe Expo!!!

6th Grade Social Studies students concluded their study of globalization by participating in the annual Global Shoe Expo. Students explored the different steps to create a shoe and the participation of countries across the world to design, manufacture and distribute products. Students then used this information to create their own shoe, advertisement and distribution plan.

Thanks to Mrs. Race and Mrs. Stepp for organizing this experience so students could showcase their learning!

All-State Orchestra

8th grade student Gabriella Murphy auditioned and has been accepted into the 2023-24 MSBOA All-State Orchestra! Gabi's resilience prepared her well for her audition. In January, Gabi will participate for two and a half days of rehearsal with nationally recognized conductors. She will play in a concert held on the Saturday of the Michigan Music ConferenceĀ at the DeVos Center in Grand Rapids. Way to go Gabi!

SSAB MLK Day Fleece Donation

Our Superintendent Student Advisory Students are in the process of preparing for our citywide MLK Day Celebration and Day of Service. Part of the effort is requesting donations of fleece to make blankets from our families and community members. With that said, can each of you please put the following note in your newsletters: Traditionally, our community makes more than 300 fleece no-sew blankets during our MLK Day of Service, and we rely on our families/community members for donations of fleece. Please consider helping us this year by donating fleece. If you will be out shopping over the next few days, please consider picking up a donation of fleece and sending it to school with your student. All donations of fleece should be in increments of 2.5 yards (so 2.5 yards, 5 yards, 7.5 yards, 10 yards, etc.) This way, they can match up with another piece without any waste. The earlier we receive the donations, the easier it is for the SSAB Team to prepare. Fleece is on sale right now at Joann's. Thank you for your support!
