While the Wisconsin Sailors miss being out on the water, keeping themselves busy during the offseason is important. The team partook in many activities over break, so I thought it would be fun to highlight some of these things that keep the sailors busy while we eagerly wait to get back on the water!

Ryan Tatelbaum ('25), Abe Weston ('25), Finn Tait ('25), and Cristina Dombrowski ('23) drove out West and hit the ski slopes in Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado. They also got to hang out with some Wisconsin Sailing alumni who have moved out West.
Kerstin Hyer ('25) also hit the slopes in Utah, and she was joined by alumni Doug Wake.
Sydney Mandell ('26), Mary Castellini ('25), and alumni Cristina Dombrowski ('23) and Lucas Quinn ('23) joined up in the Windy City for a night of skating and reuniting.

Captain Ellie Murphy ('24) also went skiing this break!
Sophie Lusty ('24) doing some yoga with a goat!

Friends of Wisconsin Sailing

We are excited to introduce Friends of Wisconsin Sailing! We are a newly formed group composed of people passionate about supporting the future success of the Wisconsin Sailing Team. Our community welcomes current sailors, alumni, parents, friends, and anyone excited about our team's success. Our goals include organizing fundraising and outreach efforts on a larger scale and eventually building an advisory committee of individuals passionate about our team's long-term success. If you are interested in joining Friends of Wisconsin Sailing, please join the Facebook group!

Winter Workouts!

In preparation for the spring season, our practice captains, Marissa Tegeder ('25) and Gavin Dempsey ('26), have been leading workouts every Tuesday and Thursday! These workouts range from swims at the gym, core power, yoga, or runs along the lakeshore path. It is a great way for the team to stay active while we are not on the water, and its also great to see all of our teammates every week, and continue to foster that Wisconsin Sailing Team connection!
