"KHEL-O-MANIA 2024: A Celebration of Excellence and Sportsmanship"
Bal Bhavan Public School celebrated its spectacular Annual Sports Festival, Khel-O-Mania 2024, with grand fervor and enthusiasm. Spanning two eventful days, December 13 and 14, 2024, the festival showcased the athletic spirit and creative brilliance of students across all grades.
The first day was exclusively dedicated to the young learners of Classes Nursery to V. The festivities commenced with the Lighting of the Lamp, a soulful Welcome Song, and a synchronized March Past led by the school band. Chief Guest, Sh. S. Sunil, Deputy Director of Education (Sports), DOE, graced the occasion with their inspiring presence. The Principal, Mr. Vividh Gupta, presented a comprehensive Annual Report, celebrating the school’s accomplishments during the year.
A unique highlight was the launch of a graphic novel, creatively prepared by students, emphasizing the importance of sports and teamwork. The event brimmed with excitement as fun races and an exhilarating football match for Classes IV and V captured the essence of healthy competition. The day concluded with the felicitation of young achievers, who received medals and certificates for their outstanding performances.
On the second day, the Senior Wing students took center stage, showcasing their remarkable skills and sportsmanship. The presence of the esteemed District Magistrate, Sh. Amol Srivastava, as Chief Guest, alongside prominent members of the school management, added gravitas to the event. A resplendent orchestra performance, followed by an impeccable March Past and the flag-hoisting ceremony, set the tone for the day.
The athletic events, including the 200m Sprint, 4x100m Relay, and the thrilling 400m Race, kept the audience captivated. The much-awaited Award Ceremony celebrated outstanding achievements, with students receiving titles such as Star Performer of the Year, Performer of the Year, and Rising Star.
The festival concluded with the announcement of the Best House Award, which was won by Jagriti House, applauded for its exceptional teamwork and determination throughout the competition.
The event was not only a sign of motivation for students but also for the teachers as they have been awarded for their exemplary performance and contribution in building sturdy youth.
“Khel-O-Mania 2024” embodied Bal Bhavan Public School’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals, blending education with sports and creativity. It was a testament to the school’s ethos of fostering excellence and inspiring young minds to strive for greatness.

Poem written by Nilakshi Singh of Class VII C "Vo Meri Maa Kehlati Hai" was published in the prestigious Reader's Club Bulletin (May to July 2024 issue), a publication by the National Book Trust.This outstanding accomplishment not only highlights her creativity and passion for writing but also earned her a cash prize of ₹1000 from the National Book Trust. Such recognition serves as an inspiration for young minds and encourages them to explore the world of literature.

On 22nd and 23rd November 2024, our school had the privilege of hosting a transformative workshop on Health and Wellness, organized under the Capacity Building Program (CBP) by CBSE. Esteemed experts, Dr. Santosh Vyas and Ms. Shruti Pandey, led the sessions, offering deep insights into fostering holistic well-being among students. The workshop focused on the importance of physical, mental, and emotional health in the educational environment. It provided educators with valuable tools and strategies to support students' overall development. This interactive experience allowed teachers to reflect on their own practices and gain fresh perspectives on promoting a healthier school community. The participants were enthusiastic about implementing the knowledge gained to nurture a more balanced and thriving educational atmosphere for students.

The Felicitation Ceremony of the Plastics Recycling Warrior Contest 2024, organized by the Indian Centre for Plastics in the Environment (ICPE) in collaboration with Bal Bhavan Public School, Mayur Vihar, recognized the exceptional efforts of schools across Delhi-NCR in the collection of plastic and e-waste. The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Ms. Naaz Rizvi (Director, NMNH), Dr. C.R. Magesh (Scientist D, NMNH), Mr. Mahesh Marwaha, and Mr. Shankar Shrivastava (Supreme Petrochem Ltd.), along with Madam Principal Mrs. Neha Gupta (Swasthya Vihar), Principal Mr. Vividh Gupta (Mayur Vihar), and Headmistress Mrs. Kavita Mehrotra.

VIII Block began their day with an empowering address from our visionary Principal Sir, Mr. Vividh Gupta. In his motivating speech, Sir emphasized the importance of realizing one's potential by highlighting that school is not only about accomplishments but about shedding limiting habits and adopting a growth-oriented mindset. He encouraged students to recognize that change begins with you—transform your habits, transform your life. Sir’s words resonated deeply, inspiring the students to reflect on their own actions and attitudes. The session concluded with a brief meditation, where each student made a personal commitment to change one habit that has been holding them back. This thoughtful initiative instilled a sense of responsibility, self-awareness, and motivation in the students, setting the tone for a productive and positive journey ahead.

The experience was further enriched by the inauguration of the Souvenir Shop, honored by the gracious presence of Shri Virendra Kumar, Hon'ble Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment. EMPOWERING EDUCATION THROUGH GERMAN LANGUAGE LEARNING
Our school recently participated in the School Leaders Conference at The Taj Ambassador, hosted by the Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan. This event brought together educators and leaders from various institutions to explore the importance of the German language in global education. The conference highlighted Germany's advancements in education and career development, emphasizing how German proficiency can open doors to academic and professional opportunities. Through engaging sessions, resource sharing, and discussions, participants explored ways to integrate German language programs into school curricula, fostering cross-cultural exchange and expanding career pathways for students. The initiative aims to strengthen international ties, providing Indian students with the tools to succeed in global environments, both academically and professionally.
BUILDING A SECURE DIGITAL FUTURE

In line with this vision, Class VIII A organized a special assembly on Cyber Jagrukta, emphasizing the significance of cyber awareness and security. The students discussed key practices such as enabling two-step authentication and the critical importance of safeguarding personal information, especially not sharing OTPs. They also shared valuable information about various portals where individuals can report cyber incidents. The assembly aimed to raise awareness about online safety, encouraging everyone to stay vigilant and adopt proactive measures to protect themselves in the digital world. It was a step towards building a safer, more secure digital environment for all.
CYBER SECURITY AND AWARENESS WORKSHOP
On a vibrant morning at Bal Bhavan Public School, we had the honor of welcoming distinguished guests, including experts from the Cyber Cell Branch and the Pandav Nagar Police Station, for a Cyber Security and Awareness Workshop aimed at our Class 6 to 8 students. This initiative underscores our commitment to fostering digital safety and empowering young minds in a rapidly advancing online world.
With the slogan, “Safety First in the Digital Universe,” we aim to equip students with essential knowledge about cybersecurity, including understanding cyberbullying and data privacy. The support of our dedicated management team, led by Principal Mr. Vividh Gupta, Vice Principal Mrs Swati Poornanand along with School Manager Ms. Kavita Mehrotra, further emphasizes our holistic approach to education, integrating academic excellence with vital life skills.

AWAKENED CITIZEN PROGRAMME
The Awakened Citizen Programme, conducted by Bal Bhavan Public School in collaboration with the Ramakrishna Mission New Delhi for grades VI and VII, focuses on unlocking the immense potential within each child. Continuing for three successful years, the program aims to instill moral values and the principles of good citizenship. Through engaging activities and interactive sessions, students are encouraged to develop self-confidence, discover their core values, and make responsible choices that positively impact their lives and communities. This holistic approach not only fosters personal growth but also empowers children to become conscientious citizens who contribute to society with integrity and compassion. Ultimately, the program nurtures a generation of individuals ready to face challenges and embrace opportunities with a strong moral foundation.
CONSTITUTION DAY CELEBRATION
Constitution Day, also known as Samvidhan Divas, is celebrated every year on November 26th to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India in 1949. Our school celebrated this significant day with great enthusiasm and a blend of educational activities.
The students of classes III, IV, and V watched an informative video about the history of the Indian Constitution, its makers, and its key features. The video highlighted the significance of the Constitution in ensuring fundamental rights, duties, and the guiding principles of equality and justice.

The students learned about the importance of the Constitution, its core values, and its role in upholding democracy and equality in the nation.
GURUDWARA VISIT
"God understands our prayers even when we can’t find the words to say them.”
The school organized a trip to Gurudwara on the occasion of “Gurupurab” for the tiny tots to inculcate moral values in the students.
It was an educational outing organized on Friday, 15th November 2024 for the students of class II, within school hours to help them understand the significance of Gurupurab, commemorating the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism.
The main objective was to familiarize children with the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, who was the beacon of kindness, love, and compassion. All the learners were amazed to see the place as it was beautifully decorated with flowers. They also listened to the Shabad (hymn) played on a harmonium with their heads bowed down and hands folded. They paid their due respect to the holy book as they bowed in front of Guru Granth Sahib. They also relished the ‘Prasad’ as they were leaving the worship place. They also learnt a new way of greeting people by saying “Sat Sri Akal” meaning “Truth is the name of God”.
CHILDREN'S DAY CELEBRATION
Children's Day is celebrated every year on 14th November to commemorate the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India. The day is dedicated to promoting the welfare and well-being of children. Our institution celebrated this special day with great enthusiasm and fervour.
The celebrations began with a morning assembly, where the students and teachers gathered to pay tribute to Pandit Nehru. The assembly was followed by a variety of fun-filled activities in the fun zone.
The Children's Day celebration was a grand success, with the students and teachers enjoying every moment of it. The day was filled with laughter, joy, and excitement, making it truly memorable. We eagerly look forward to celebrating many more Children's Days in the future.
ASTROPORT SPACE CAMP
An extraordinary three-day space camp, organized by our school in collaboration with Astroport, unfolded an unforgettable journey of discovery, adventure, and learning for students of Classes 4 to 8. Held at Sariska from 13th to 15th November, the camp offered a perfect blend of education and recreation, leaving students enriched with valuable insights into astronomy and cherished memories to last a lifetime.
The journey began early in the morning, as excited students gathered at school to board the bus. After enjoying a hearty breakfast en route to the resort, students eagerly awaited their first stop, the historic Bhangarh Fort.
The highlight of the first day was the night astronomical session. Students were thrilled to observe celestial bodies like Saturn and the Moon through a telescope. The experience sparked curiosity and wonder about the vast universe. The evening concluded with a vibrant cultural program where students showcased their dancing skills and enjoyed a delightful dinner before retiring for the night.
The second day began early with an invigorating exercise session, followed by a fascinating hydro-rocket launch activity. Students actively participated and learned the principles behind the launch, making it an educational yet fun experience.
After breakfast, we bid farewell to the resort and headed back to Delhi with hearts full of joy and minds enriched with knowledge. The camp was a perfect amalgamation of science, adventure, and camaraderie, leaving students with lasting impressions. It served as an inspiration for students to explore the wonders of space and science.
CHRISTMAS DAY CELEBRATION
The festive spirit came alive on 24th December 2024, as our school hosted a heartwarming Christmas assembly centered around the theme "Joy of Giving." The event was a beautiful celebration of the festive season and emphasized the spirit of generosity and kindness.
The assembly began with a lively Christmas carol, followed by an energetic dance performance, filling the atmosphere with joy and excitement. The stage was adorned with Christmas trees and festive ornaments, creating a magical ambiance.
A touching skit inspired by A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens was presented by the students of Classes III to V, emphasizing the importance of kindness and spreading joy. Our tiny tots from Class II, dressed in festive attire, added to the Christmas cheer, reminding everyone of the happiness that comes from sharing and caring. Students also spread the message of being a Santa in someone’s life by performing acts of kindness, such as helping others, spending time with loved ones, and caring for nature.
The students learned that the true joy of Christmas lies in giving love, care, time, and happiness—not just in exchanging gifts.
NATIONAL MATHEMATICS DAY
"The only way to learn mathematics is to do mathematics."
On December 22nd, we celebrated the birth anniversary of the legendary mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan with enthusiasm and excitement. Our young Bal Bhavanites marked this special occasion by showcasing their creativity, teamwork, and love for mathematics through a series of engaging activities.
The National Mathematics Day celebration was a spectacular success, with our young mathematicians demonstrating their abilities and knowledge with excitement. This event helped our pupils develop a greater appreciation and love for mathematics.
It was a wonderful experience for our children. We look forward to conducting more such programs to raise mathematics knowledge and passion among our young students.
