50 Shades of Pink Fashion Show rne student life

RNE Student Government hosted their first annual 50 Shades of Pink fashion show to show support for Breast Cancer Awareness month last Saturday, Oct. 21. For an entry fee of $5, guests got a front row seat to watch some familiar Richland 2 faces walk the runway in pink attire.

The outfits were divided into four categories: casual wear, urban/street wear, formal, and business casual. Special selections included spoken word by Mae Carter, a musical performance by Mr. Charlie Butler, and a contemporary dance by PCA student Erin Peters. Dr. Kim Moore, Richland 2 superintendent, was honored alongside two other district board members as a survivor of breast cancer.

"Bringing awareness to breast cancer and the importance of the fight that continues," Student Activities Director Regina Cherry said, "and for us to continue to support those survivors— that's what I'm most excited for."

According to Cherry, the event raised approximately $350 and all funds will be donated to a breast cancer charity of student government's choosing within the coming weeks.
