PRINCIPAL'S DESK

Dear Bluejay Family, We are delighted to share some wonderful staffing news as we continue to grow and strengthen our Bluejay family. God has truly blessed St. Cecilia School with an incredible group of educators and leaders who are deeply rooted in faith, excellence, and love for our students. Please join us in welcoming (and welcoming back!) four special Bluejays: 💙 Denise Hebert – Instructional Strategist We are thrilled to welcome Mrs. Denise Hebert back to St. Cecilia School in her role as Instructional Strategist on a part-time basis! Mrs. Hebert is a familiar and beloved face on our campus, and we are so grateful that she has once able to serve our students and faculty. 💙 Tricia Pontiff – Kindergarten We are excited to introduce Mrs. Tricia Pontiff, who joined our St. Cecilia family in December as our new Kindergarten teacher, to the rest of our school community. Mrs. Pontiff brings four successful years of experience teaching first grade with LPSS and is an alumna of Cathedral Carmel, STM, and UL-Lafayette. She comes to us with training and experience in both Heggerty and Secret Stories, which will help ensure our kindergarten students remain on a steady and successful path in their early literacy development. 💙 Claire Lasseigne – Second Grade In that same vein, we are delighted to formally welcome Mrs. Claire Lasseigne back to the classroom. Mrs. Lasseigne stepped into our second grade in November after what we lovingly consider to be an “extended maternity leave.” Claire previously served St. Cecilia School for several years in both third and fifth grades and has continued to support our campus as a dedicated substitute. The pull of the classroom called her home, and we are grateful that her talents, experience, and love for teaching are once again blessing our students each day. 💙 Angela Schoeffler – Advancement Team (Joining Us in March) We are especially excited to share that Mrs. Angela Schoeffler will be joining St. Cecilia School in March as a new member of our Advancement Team. In what can only be described as a true God moment, Angela came to us before we even had the chance to advertise—clearly an answer to prayer. She brings a wealth of experience in marketing, communications, and advancement, along with a deep love for Catholic education. Her role will focus on strengthening communication, building relationships, and supporting the continued growth and mission of St. Cecilia School. Please join us in extending a warm Bluejay welcome to Denise, Tricia, Claire, and Angela. We are incredibly grateful for each of these women and the gifts they bring to our students, families, and faith-filled community. We look forward to all that God has in store as we continue to build on tradition and trust in His will. Grace & Peace, Erin B. Henry Principal

Hopefully you have seen that we were chosen as the Pro-Life School of the Year for the Acadiana Region Louisiana Right to Life. This is a huge honor and we are the first non-high school to receive it! We will be announced and recognized at the Pro-Life Festival held Saturday morning at Parc Sans Souci in downtown Lafayette. Please see the flyer below for details. There will be fun activities for the whole family! There is also a gala that night that representatives of the school will attend. If your family attends the festival, please go up when they call for anyone from St. Cecilia School! We hope to represent well at the festival so please consider attending. Join us for a prayer walk, worship, food trucks, drinks, and snowcones. As an exciting bonus, the largest group in attendance will receive an all expenses paid snowball party for their school, church, or organization. Let's rally our Bluejays and show up strong!
