Alex Luke is a soulful singer, rapper and producer from Manchester, UK. Alex takes his approach to song-writing with his heart on his sleeve and has recently been awarded grant funding from Help Musicians, received support from The Ivors Academy, BBC Introducing Manchester, Spotify Editorial Fresh Finds UK + IE and praise from Jamz Supernova on Selector Radio. Alongside landing a sync placement, the past few years has seen Alex perform in some of Manchester's most well known venues, festivals in Manchester and shows in London.

Alex Luke's debut project 'Star Projector EP', was released 17th November 2023 and portrays the artists musical influences and perspicacity. The EP set the stage for his sold out headline show in his hometown of Manchester, at The Deaf Institute on March 29th 2024.

The singer and rapper perfectly navigates the genres that influenced his childhood and adolescence, delivering a fresh yet current soundscape to his productions, combined with lyrics of heart felt sincerity and realness.

After Luke's brother passed in 2015, he turned to his music for solace and took his brothers middle name ‘LUKE’, a means of keeping his memory alive.

The first single release ahead of the EP, 'What You Cryin' For?' has received incredible engagement across social media, accompanied with a unique music video portraying the authenticity of Alex's music and brand. 'Simone' followed in June and has been described by media as a '' a trailblazer in indie hip-pop'' - Songs Behind The Music.

Luke's latest offering 'DNA' ft Hayley Brown, is an introspective and soulful hip-hop triumph. Accompanied by a stunning music video shot by Sophia J Carey (Little Simz, Loyle Carner), the track has recently been supported by Jamz Supernova on Selector Radio

Luke has recently been awarded grant funding from Help Musicians, which contributed to the EP's success. His live performance record, natural stage aura and current collection of independent releases, has earned him an engaged following.

'What You Cryin' For?' - Artwork

'What You Cryin' For?' is a tongue in cheek break-up song about a cheating ex who romanticised love songs, only to become the villain. This was the first single ahead of Alex’s debut EP. Alex wrote, engineered, and produced the song. The chorus exudes self-assurance, while the key change and string quartet reveal the dark depths to the story. The 'home made' style video accompanies the track perfectly, emphasising the raw truth of the song and sharing a perfect view into the process of creating his debut EP.

Alex's debut EP 'Star Projector EP' is a window into the life of an artist who has had his fair share of trauma, relationships turned sour, lust and new love.

A project three years in the making and close to Luke's heart, drawing on parallels through his vision as a true astrophile. The six track EP accompanied by four interludes, was released November 17th 2023, with four singles preceding it's releaseThe project is truly unique, with sonic fusions of Pop, Hip Hop and soul. 'Star Projector EP' is dynamic in colour, with brilliant births and annihilating truths, mirroring that of Alex's experiences. To celebrate the EP release, Luke sold out his biggest headline show to date at Manchester's iconic Deaf Institute (200 cap) on March 29th 2024.
