Antiracism Consultation
East Riding of Yorkshire Council are developing an anti-racist strategy and are inviting people to share their lived experience of racism. This survey is designed to help them better understand the experiences of ethnically minoritised residents and staff.
The consultation can be accessed via this link or via the QR code: https://consultation.eastriding.gov.uk/s/ERYC_AntiRacistStrategy/
There is also a first face-to face meeting to start developing the themes and priority areas for the strategy on March 18th 1.30-5 at Beverley Leisure Centre.
Important Reminder: No nuts or nut products in school
We have members of the school community with severe allergies. Coming in to contact with nuts or nut products can cause a life-threatening allergic reaction called anaphylaxis.
Please can all parents and carers ensure that they do not send any items in pack ups and snack boxes that contain nuts or nut products. This includes Nutella, peanut butter and any other spreads containing nuts, as well as cereal bars with nuts etc. Please take the time to check ingredient lists carefully.
Thank you for helping to keep everyone in our school community safe.

Netball Stars
After participating in the after-school netball clubs run by Mrs Pritchard, this amazing group of Parkside children have since joined Goole Junior Netball club. Mrs Pritchard told us, "They train every week, showing great dedication and teamwork. Recently they entered a tournament playing against other teams from the Humberside Netball League. Their hard work paid off, with team Galaxy securing an impressive third place and team Starlight achieving a respectable seventh place. It's great to see the children enjoying sport and exercise outside of school, keeping active, developing confidence and learning new skills!".
Please label uniform
Please can we remind parents and carers to label clothing with your child's name. This is particularly important at this time of year when temperatures vary throughout the day, meaning jumpers/cardigans etc are taken off. Named clothing makes it much easier to make sure it gets back to the right child at the end of the day.

Spotlight on Attendance 🔦
See below for attendance data for the last two weeks. It's great to see that the overall school attendance is rising - let's keep this upward trend going!
Please remember that absence from school not only equates to lost learning but also missing out on other benefits to a child's wellbeing and wider development.
Please also be aware that a period of five unauthorised days out of school will incur a penalty notice. Please take note of the changes to penalty notices and our updated attendance policy. This information is also available on the Absence & Attendance page on our website.
The Department of Education has advice on improving attendance - click here to view.
School Attendance is ‘everyone’s business’.
What an absence means for your child?
At primary school level, where pupils missing up to 14 days of school in key stage two are a quarter less likely to achieve level five or above in reading, writing or maths tests than those with no absence.
If you have any concerns regarding attendance please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Greenley, our Safeguarding and Attendance officer here at Parkside Primary School.
Intrasports
The first Friday of every term the children take part in Intrasports. These days allow the children to enjoy the fun of competitive sport as they take part in events against other classes.
Safeguarding and Wellbeing - Help available from school
If you have any concerns about the safety and wellbeing of a child who attends Parkside Primary or require any additional support or advice with regards to attendance please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Greenley, our Safeguarding & Attendance Officer. If you have any question or worries about your child’s behaviour or require any additional family support then please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Daine, our Behaviour & Family Support Worker. Both members of staff are also available for children to talk to should they have any worries.
If you have any Safeguarding concerns outside of school hours, or are concerned a child has suffered or is likely to suffer significant harm and is at immediate risk call the Children’s Safeguarding Hub on (01482) 395500 or ring 999 (asking for the Police).
