FROM THE Principal’s Desk

Dear Bluejay Family,

We need your help and cooperation! Last week’s bulletin included a request to return to previous parking procedures for morning and afternoon car line. This is an important safety issue.

Now that the rear lot of the church has been reopened, we are reminding everyone that it should be used for morning and afternoon parking for students who are “walkers.” We also have access to the empty lot on Main Street at the corner of Jefferson. Parents may not park in front of the school or the PLC at these times as it disrupts car line traffic flow, blocks PLC and Chapel access, and tempts students to cross where there is no guard on duty. To help illustrate, please refer to the image with this post for available parking locations in green and lots not to be used in red.

Please help us with running a safe and orderly car line while respectfully sharing access to our campus.

Grace and Peace,

Erin B. Henry

Principal

“However, if you fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself,’ you are doing well.”

UL Basketball & United Way Teacher Awards - March 1st

🌟 Calling all Bluejay Families! 🌟

Join us in rallying behind our beloved teacher finalist, Ms. Alyse Etie, at the United Way of Acadiana's Teacher Awards presented by Love Our Schools! It's not just an awards ceremony; it's a community-wide celebration of the incredible work our teachers do every day.

Mark your calendars for the final game of the season for the UL Ragin' Cajuns men's basketball team on Friday, March 1, 2023. Festivities kick off at 6:30 pm with a red carpet extravaganza at the Cajundome. During halftime, Ms. Alyse Etie and all the exceptional finalists will be presented. Let's make some noise, decked out in St. Cecilia School colors, waving signs, and spreading the spirit of support. This is our chance to show Ms. Etie and all the finalists just how much they mean to us.

Your ticket to the game is your pass to join the celebration. Discount tickets are available for $8 with code TEACH.

Let's pack the stands, let's raise the roof, and let's make this an unforgettable evening of appreciation and applause. Together, we can honor our teachers in the biggest, loudest, and proudest way possible. 🏀🎉

See you there!

In an effort to improve our athletic programs at St. Cecilia, it was felt that a comprehensive athletic handbook was needed. This handbook affects players, coaches, parents, and fans. Parent/guardian completion of this form and adherence to the rules and regulations outlined in the handbook are requirements for participation in athletic programs at St. Cecilia School. The link below will take you to the handbook. It is also on the school website for reference as well. Thank you all for your continued support of SCS Athletics.

For those that have already completed the acknowledgement form, and want to refresh themselves on the rules and regulations, please follow the link below.

****We are so proud of our SCS 7/8th Grade football, 5th Grade White and 7th Grade volleyball teams' fantastic accomplishments this fall. We can now officially celebrate our championships in volleyball and football by purchasing apparel from Action Specialties. These are school approved and can be worn as part of the school uniform. There is a tab on the top horizontal bar for championship apparel. Thanks again for your support of SCS Athletics!
