Council Meeting
The next City Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in the Civic Center Council Chambers located at 5938 Kauffman Avenue. City Commissioners Recruitment
Temple City is now accepting application for City Commissioners! City Commissions help shape our community by advising the City Council and providing recommendations on important local issues. To be eligible, applicants must be Temple City residents, registered to vote in Temple City, and must remain eligible for the full two-year term. Submit your completed application to the City Clerk's Office in person or via email to CityClerk@templecity.us. Applications are available HERE.

Youth Committee
The next Youth Committee bi-monthly meeting will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 5:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers. Members of the public are welcome to attend the meeting in person.
The City is accepting applications to fill seats on the Youth Committee with terms ending June 30, 2025. There are a total of 3 seats.
Applications can be downloaded from the City’s website by CLICKING HERE, or obtained during normal business hours from the city clerk’s office in city hall at 9701 Las Tunas Dr. The deadline for submitting an application is 5 p.m. on Friday, May 9. The City will select committee members through an interview process.

Summer Day Camp
Ready to have some fun in the warm summer sun? Meet new friends and make this the best summer ever at Temple City’s Summer Day Camp! Campers ages 5-12 will enjoy a variety of fun and engaging activities, including arts and crafts, games, enrichment projects, and sports – plus special bi-weekly field trips to amusement parks, the aquarium, and more.
This year's program runs from June 2 through August 8 in two-week sessions, with activities scheduled Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Registration includes a camp T-shirt.

- Session 5 (July 28 – August 8): Registration opens May 5, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.

Adult Excursions
Registration for June excursions opens on Monday, May 5th. Take a self-guided tour of the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana, featuring multicultural exhibits like California Legacies, Ceramics of Western Mexico, Gemstone Carvings, and more. Or, enjoy a day in historic Little Italy, starting with a guided tour and lunch at the oldest restaurant. You can register HERE or at the Live Oak Park Community Center, daily from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Community Input for New Park
The City is beginning an initial community outreach for a proposed park development at 9050 Las Tunas Drive (southeast corner of Las Tunas and Sultana). CDD Monthly Report – March 2025
The Community Development Department has released its monthly update for March 2025. Below is a summary of the major highlights:
Building Activity
In March 2025, the City issued 188 permits with a total valuation of $3.34 million—nearly identical to the previous March but reflecting steady growth year-to-date. Total fees collected reached $184,880.27. Noteworthy projects included new single-family homes at 5409 and 5411 Baldwin Avenue and several accessory dwelling units (ADUs) throughout the city.
Planning
The Planning Division received applications primarily for ADUs and house remodels. Minor site plan reviews included house additions at multiple locations and a new single-family home at 5413 Robinhood Avenue.
Business Licensing
Three new business licenses were issued:
- Cosmetic World (retail) at 5823 Rosemead Blvd
- San Gabriel Valley Fruits (sidewalk vendor) at 5633 Rosemead Blvd
- Sumi Lash (personal services) at 5728 Rosemead Blvd
Community Preservation
The City opened 147 new community preservation cases in March—down slightly from 166 cases the same month last year. Of these, 70% were initiated by inspectors, 22% by the public, and 8% by other staff. A total of 147 cases were closed, up from 117 last March.
