Will we see you there?

Open Mill Weekend

Whenever possible we have opened the mill for National Mills Weekend, starting in 2010. That occasion was our Grand Opening following four years of restoration work, and you can read the report here.

National Mills Weekend is the annual festival of our milling heritage and provides you with a fantastic opportunity to visit mills, many of which are not usually open to the public. For information about the weekend and details of other mills that will be open you can visit the official Mills Weekend website.

In 2024 the national weekend clashes with other events on site so we are holding our own weekend on the 8th and 9th of June.

Open Mill Weekend 2025

The mill will be open to visitors between 10am and 4pm on both the 10th and 11th of May. Admission is free and there is plenty of parking space. As well as touring the mill you will be able to see period vehicles, watch milling demonstrations if conditions on the day allow, and enjoy refreshments. The theme of this years event is milling through the ages.

Donations towards the cost of the on going restorations and repair work are requested and there will be a number of donation buckets around the site and, alternatively, a card reader is available for this purpose.

Although it is quite separate from the mill the church of St Andrew is also worth a visit.

Opening Times 2025

The mill is normally open to the public at a number of events throughout the year and the opening times for these events are included in the calendar below. There is no fixed charge for admission but donations are requested to meet on going repair and maintenance costs. Visits at other times can be arranged, contact us here.

Calendar of Events 2025:

Note 1 Admission charges apply for all MAC Hill Climb Events. For safety reasons the mill is only open during the lunch break in competition and exact times depend on the progress of the event. For more information on their events please visit the MAC website.

The mill is a Grade II listed building on a steeply sloping site and wheelchair access is very limited. Our volunteers will make every effort to assist wheelchair users but some parts of the mill will not be accessible.
