Successful-Creative-Kind: for today, for tomorrow, for the future

2025 Ofsted report

We are delighted to share our Ofsted report with you. Please ensure you have read the report and supporting letter sent home this week, highlighting the successes. So much progress has been made since our last inspection in 2019.

Behaviour and attitudes: ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted grading! We are so proud to announce this. The pupils at LPPA are incredible, as are the staff, who work so hard to uphold such high standards, day in, day out.

Highlights

The Pancake toss, World Book Day, Author visit, Water safety assembly, Science week, RHS Science investigations for our Eco schools project, Member of Parliament assembly, International women’s day, STEMfest, Holi festival colour run. Thank you for your donations and support. It’s been a very busy but enjoyable couple of weeks!

The next couple of weeks…

Friday 21st March: Dress like a Rock Star with wacky hair for Red Nose Day. Donations can be made directly to comic relief. Rock Steady will be hosting an assembly for the whole school, to mark the occasion. The school disco will also go ahead on this day, after school. A separate letter has gone out about this.

W/b 24th March- travelling book fair. Come in and buy some new books!

Friday 28th March- Turn Purple for the day in aid of raising awareness of epilepsy. Wear purple on this date.

Wednesday 2nd April and Thursday 3rd April- Parents’ evening consultations. Please ensure you have booked your appointment.

Upcoming Dates

Slipper Fridays

After Easter, we will be introducing ‘Slipper Fridays’. Children are invited to leave a pair of slippers at school in their lockers to wear on a Friday. For Health and Safety, slippers must have a hard sole, have backs and be enclosed- no open toes. This is in keeping with our Hygge approach and our school ethos, which Ofsted really liked.

For example:

Cross Country- 3rd April.

Selected pupils have been notified. Please ensure your child has a school PE kit and black trainers for the event. If they can practise some long runs with you at home, that would be amazing!

Wellies

The children are very keen to use the field again. As it is still a bit muddy, I have suggested they bring wellies into school to change into. Please bring these in a labelled bag. Welly racks have been ordered.

‘Toddles’ Toddler Group

Toddler group is on every Thursday during term time from 9:15-10:15am. Babies-school age children are welcome, with an accompanying parent/adult. Only £2 per session.

Trackit certificate winners

Well done to all of our Trackit winners this week. You’ve worked hard to earn your points this week. Keep up the good work!

Parent code of conduct

Our Parent Code of Conduct has been sent out. Please ensure you have read this and understand our expectations.

When talking to staff, please ensure you are kind and respectful. We promote these values with our pupils in school and ask that parents model these too. Staff are always willing to discuss any concerns, but please be aware that meetings should be booked in advance.

Good Attendance matters!

Attendance matters: please ensure your child is in school every day. If you are unsure whether to keep your child off school, please refer to the NHS guidance. As a school we are aiming for 96%! A persistent absentee is any child, whose attendance is falling below 90%. You will be expected to attend a meeting with Mrs Davenport, our attendance officer, to overcome barriers together.

Attendance winners

The winning class was Year 1 with 99%- amazing! Well done and enjoy your non-uniform day on Monday.

School tours

School tours are always available upon request. Please contact the school office to arrange one.

Have a lovely weekend with your family.

Mrs Murrell and the LPPA team.
