"Sent by Kim Gi-dong,"

The Pohang Steelers, who left head coach Kim Ki-dong (FC Seoul), appointed head coach Park Tae-ha.

Pohang said Tuesday that it has appointed Park Tae-ha, chairman of the technical committee of the Korea Professional Football League, as its 13th coach. The contract period is two years.

Park Tae-ha is also the first one-club man-turned coach in Pohang. Park Tae-ha only played in Pohang for nine years from 1991 to 2001 (excluding military service). Former coach Kim Ki-dong retired after playing for Pohang for nine years, but he made his professional debut as a contributor, going through the Bucheon SK for 10 years.

Park Tae-ha won the K-League title (1992) and the FA Cup title (1996), and the Asian Club Championship (1996-1997, 1997-1998). He scored 46 goals and 37 assists in 261 matches in the K-League, and served as captain for three years from 1998.

After retirement, he began his career as a coach in Pohang. In 2007, he helped Pohang win the K-League title. After serving as a national and senior coach, he helped the team win the K-League title (2012) as the head coach of FC Seoul. Afterwards, he led China's second division Yanbian and the Chinese women's B-team, and served as the chairman of the Korea Professional Football Federation's technical committee from 2020.

"Pohang is a meaningful place for me. I've never forgotten about Pohang since I first joined the club," coach Park Tae-ha said. "I'm honored and glad to be appointed as a coach in Pohang. I'll do my best to prepare for Pohang's soccer." 안전놀이터
