Orcutt Academy Spartan Newsletter May 3, 2024

HELLO SPARTAN FAMILIES!

U.S. News & World Report released its 2024-2025 “best high schools” rankings on Tuesday, and you own Orcutt Academy High School once again is tops in Santa Barbara County!!!

The rankings of nearly 25,000 public high schools nationwide are based on multiple factors, including college readiness, state assessment performance, underserved student performance, college curriculum breadth, and graduation rate. OAHS’ school score improved from last year’s U.S. News rankings. OAHS now has a score of 90.16, which puts it 1,755th in national rankings, 248th among California high schools, 284th among the country’s charter high schools, and No. 1 in our county. The closest county high schools to OAHS were Dos Pueblos (88.71 score, 277th in California) and Santa Ynez (84.12 score, 390th in California).

In light of this announcement, I would like to invite all Spartan Families and future Spartans to our annual Spartan Showcase next week. There will be scheduled performances from our award winning programs, ongoing displays in classrooms, a film festival, and much more!

We will be highlighting our programs and our students this Thursday, May 9, 2024, from 5-7 PM. All Spartan Families and future Spartans are invited to see our scheduled performances, ongoing showcases on display.

Additionally, next week is Mental Health Awareness Week. The Counseling team in conjunction with SB County Behavioral Wellness will be hosting several activities throughout the week highlighting local resources and supports. As the semester is drawing near to a close, it's so important to remember to take care of our mental health first and foremost.
