Haf 1 -Cylchlythyr
Dear all at home,
What a whirlwind this short half term has been! We've packed so much into these four weeks, and I'm excited to share some of the highlights with you all.
First off, I have to mention our Enthralling Earth Exhibition at Cowbridge Town Hall. What an incredible showcase of our pupils' learning! The displays were absolutely amazing, and it was wonderful to see so many of you there, taking in all the hard work and creativity our young learners have put into their projects. A massive thank you to all the staff who worked tirelessly to make this event happen. I'd like to give a special shout-out to Miss Fisher and Mrs Goldsworthy for their fantastic vision that brought it all together. Your dedication and enthusiasm really shone through in the final result.
Another standout moment was the BBC Now orchestra concert. I couldn't have been prouder watching our pupils show off their incredible musical skills. The level of talent and confidence on display was truly impressive. It's moments like these that remind us of the importance of arts education and the joy it brings to our school community.
I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended both of these events. Your support means the world to us and to the children. It's so important for our pupils to see their hard work recognised and celebrated by their families and the wider community.
These events are just a snapshot of the vibrant learning environment we're cultivating here at Llansannor & Llanharry CiW Primary School. Every day, I see our pupils growing, learning, and pushing themselves to new heights. It's a privilege to be part of their journey.
As we wrap up this action-packed half term, I'm already looking forward to what the next one will bring. There's always something exciting happening in our school, and I can't wait to share more with you soon.
Thanks again for your continued support. It's what makes our school community so special.
Love and Prayers,
Mrs Davies
VE Day
What a fantastic day we had celebrating VE Day at Llansannor & Llanharry CiW Primary School! I wanted to share some of the highlights with you all.
We kicked things off with a special assembly led by Rev Angela. She did a wonderful job helping our pupils understand the significance of VE Day and why we remember it.
We all headed out to the field for a glorious picnic. The weather couldn't have been better - sunshine and blue skies all around. These are the moments that really bring our school community together.
Everyone looked amazing in their outfits. It really added to the festive atmosphere and made the day feel extra special.
Days like this are what make our school so special. It's not just about learning in the classroom (though that's important too!), but also about coming together as a community to celebrate and remember important events.
Presenoldeb/Attendance
First off, I've got to say a big thank you to all of you. Our attendance has been consistently high, sitting pretty at 95%. That's fantastic news! It shows just how committed our pupils and families are to learning and being part of our school community. Every day in school counts, and you're all making those days matter.
Now, I know life can get busy and sometimes it's tricky to juggle everything. But I'd like to gently remind everyone about a couple of things that can help us keep this great attendance going.
If you need to book appointments for your children, please try to schedule them outside of school hours when possible. I know it's not always easy, but it really does make a difference.
Also, while I completely understand the allure of a family holiday, please remember not to book trips during term time. Those classroom experiences are precious, and we'd hate for your children to miss out.
Your support in these areas means so much. It helps us provide the best education possible for your children and keeps our school community strong.
Thanks again for your ongoing commitment to our school. Let's keep up the great work together!
Parking and Bus Use
I need to bring up the ongoing parking issue again. I know it can be tricky, especially during drop-off and pick-up times, but we really need to be mindful of how we're parking. Please, let's all make an effort to park courteously and not block our neighbours' driveways. They're part of our community too, and we want to keep those relationships friendly.
On a related note, I've got a small request for those of you who are eligible to use the school bus. If you're able to use it, please do. It's there for a reason, and every car we can keep off the roads around the school helps with the parking situation. Plus, it's a great way for the children to start their day chatting with friends. I know these might seem like small things, but they make a big difference to how smoothly our school runs and how we fit into the wider community.
Every little bit helps, and I really appreciate your support in making our school a great place for everyone.
Llansannnor Childcare Success
I've got some fantastic news to share with you all. Our nursery wrap-around care provider, Llansannor Childcare, has just had an inspection from Care Inspectorate Wales. And they've come out with flying colours!
The report is absolutely brilliant, with no recommendations for improvement. That's pretty amazing, isn't it? It just goes to show what a great job they're doing looking after our little ones.
I want to give a big shout out to Mrs Miller and her awesome team - Mrs L Jones and Mrs Waters. Their hard work and dedication have really paid off. The report says some lovely things about how the children are getting on. Here's a bit that made me smile:
"Children thoroughly enjoy their time at Llansannor Child Care and are extremely happy. They are very settled and are confident interacting with each other, staff and visitors. Children excitedly make choices about what they do and are developing lovely friendships with each other and staff."
Isn't that wonderful? It's exactly what we want to hear - that our pupils are happy, confident, and making friends. It's clear they're in great hands with the Llansannor Childcare team.
We're all incredibly proud of this achievement. It's a real testament to the quality of care our pupils receive, and it's brilliant to see it recognised officially like this.
If you'd like to read the full report (and I'd really encourage you to do so), you can find it online. Just pop over to
https://digital.careinspectorate.wales/directory/service/SIN-00013264-HLLH
and you'll see all the details.
Well done again to Mrs Miller and the team. Keep up the fantastic work!
Admissions at Llansannor
I'm writing to share some important information about admissions for the upcoming 2025 academic year.
I'm pleased to let you know that we have places available in our Reception class for September 2025.
If you or anyone in your community is looking for a primary school placement for their child, I would encourage you to consider Llansannor. We pride ourselves on providing a nurturing and enriching educational environment for all our pupils. In addition to the Reception places, we also have limited spaces available in our Nursery for 2025.
If you have a younger child who will be eligible for Nursery next year, I would recommend applying as soon as possible, as these spots tend to fill up quickly.
Please feel free to share this information with your friends, family, and neighbours who may be interested in securing a place at our school.
We're always happy to welcome new pupils and families into our Llansannor community.
If you have any questions or would like to arrange a visit, don't hesitate to get in touch. I look forward to hearing from you.
Please note that the new menu is now available on our school website at
https://www.llansannorprimary.co.uk/lunch-menus/.
I encourage you to take a look and familiarise yourself with the delicious options we have in store for your children.
As a reminder, you can order your child's lunches on ParentPay up to 14 days in advance. This helps us ensure we have the necessary supplies to cater for everyone.
Unfortunately, due to order constraints, we will be asking parents to provide packed lunches on the days when orders have been missed.
I appreciate your continued support and cooperation in this matter. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out.
