We have the right to be understood. We have the right to communicate. We have the right to participate in the decision-making process.
What I can offer you is a more in-depth understanding of communication frameworks and processes that we can participate in together. In this, we will prioritize qualitative approaches; communication ethics; interpersonal, relational, family, intercultural, and organizational communication perspectives; communication pedagogy; media-technology; and/or communication for social change.
We will ask "why" about our world. We will investigate the ideologies and structures that impose absolutes onto our state of being and social realities. My goal will be to respond to both what has been psychologically sealed and institutionally ascribed to our experiences of identities, relationships, and cultures.
Communication offers us possibilities to reflect and act upon our experiences of both harmony and conflict across the different contexts of our lives. We will explore the tensions between what has become centered and all that is not centered. And, we will debate the circumstances of how we are persuaded and where we are positioned in our world.
Above all, we will remain committed to meeting human beings in their stories, actions, and assemblies in a world where it could be far easier to love each other. In this, meaningful change can happen in and through communication.
