Relieving Principal's Message
Welcome back to another term full of fun learning and excitement! We have absolutely hit the ground running with two major events in two days. It took three attempts to finally hold our 3-6 Athletics Carnival due to the wet weather. Thank you to Mrs Cameron and Mr Butt who both worked hard to plan three different events. Congratulations to all the students who attended for their excellent behaviour and sportsmanship skills.
On Thursday 31 July, we held our annual NAIDOC Day. We are so lucky to have amazing staff at BPS and the talent, knowledge and dedication that was displayed during our opening ceremony was outstanding. Thank you to Jess our AEO and Mr Eli Cook for sharing your love and respect of culture with our students. The pride that our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students show when they represent their culture is what NAIDOC is all about. I am so proud that our school is able to offer students and their families a true sense of belonging within our community. Congratulations to everyone involved!
Next week is Public Education Week. We recognise all the achievements and success of Public Education students and staff. To celebrate we will be holding a free BBQ lunch and opening our classrooms to our families on Friday 8th August. We would like to invite you all in to see what goes on inside the gates and have our students show off their amazing work. Information about this will be out today.
Thank you to all our families for supporting us over the last two days. We love having you join us and celebrating the positive things we do.

Compassion in Action: Helping Maryโs Place
Throughout Term 2, the Ballina Coast High School Rotary Interact Club dedicated themselves to making a positive impact in our community. They focused on raising money for food and collecting clothing and blankets for the homeless.
All contributions were donated to Mary's Place in Ballina, affiliated with the St Vincent de Paul Society. Members held a bake sale and sausage sizzle, successfully raising over $400 for Maryโs Place. They expressed gratitude for the kindness shown by the BCHS community, particularly praising the Interact Club's efforts.
