True North Vacation Bible eXperience Trusting Jesus in a wild world!

Welcome

Explorers, maps, and GPS systems rely on true north. It's a fixed point that never changes and helps lead in the right direction. Jesus is our "True North." He is never changing, the God we can trust to lead us in the right direction for all our days and through every up and down.
Who is someone you trust? How does that person help you when life feels wild?
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. PRoverbs 3:5-6 ESV

"Sometimes life can feel big, scary, wild, or out of our control. Maybe you hear upsetting things in the news. Or your parents fight. Or you have to move and wonder if you’ll make new friends. Those things can make life feel uncertain. That’s why we need Jesus! He’s a friend we can always trust. He never changes or leaves us. He’s always there for us, no matter what. When life feels wild, we can trust that Jesus is rock-solid!" -Sing and Play Peak Guide

God Sightings

Every day this week, think of a "God Sighting." How have you seen God at work in this big, vast, beautiful world? Write or draw each one on a tree. By the end of the week, you'll have a "God Sighting" forest.
Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them; let all the trees of the forest sing for joy. Let all creation rejoice before the Lord, for he comes, he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples in his faithfulness. Psalm 96:12-13

A Roman Officer Trusts Jesus

Matthew 8:5-13 NLT When Jesus returned to Capernaum, a Roman officer came and pleaded with him, 6 “Lord, my young servant lies in bed, paralyzed and in terrible pain.” 7 Jesus said, “I will come and heal him.” 8 But the officer said, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come into my home. Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed. 9 I know this because I am under the authority of my superior officers, and I have authority over my soldiers. I only need to say, ‘Go,’ and they go, or ‘Come,’ and they come. And if I say to my slaves, ‘Do this,’ they do it.” 10 When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. Turning to those who were following him, he said, “I tell you the truth, I haven’t seen faith like this in all Israel! 11 And I tell you this, that many Gentiles will come from all over the world—from east and west—and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob at the feast in the Kingdom of Heaven. 12 But many Israelites—those for whom the Kingdom was prepared—will be thrown into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” 13 Then Jesus said to the Roman officer, “Go back home. Because you believed, it has happened.” And the young servant was healed that same hour.
