PTA LIFE MEMBERS

Please join us in congratulating two outstanding individuals, Stephanie Jarrett and Katie Thayer, on their well-deserved Texas PTA Lifetime Membership Awards! Stephanie Jarrett has worn countless hats throughout her years of service with PTA, always going above and beyond for our students, families, and community. This recognition is long overdue, and we are so grateful for her tireless dedication, leadership, and unwavering passion in making a difference. We couldn’t be more proud to honor her today. Katie Thayer, our incredible librarian at Gunn Junior High, has done so much to inspire and nurture our students’ love for reading. She’s created a welcoming, vibrant space where learning and imagination flourish. Katie’s impact on our school community goes beyond the library—her dedication and creativity have enriched the lives of so many students, and this award is a small reflection of her enormous contributions. Thank you both for everything you do! You are true champions of our students and community!

Thanks for helping to keep our parking lot safe for kids!

SchoolMed

Arlington ISD offers a convenient way for your child to see a doctor AT SCHOOL!

We have a new partnership this year with Goodside Health to offer telehealth virtual care. If your child is sick, Nurse Elkins can facilitate a meeting with a pediatric provider where they can assess and diagnose them. If the provider recommends it, I can even test for Strep, Flu, and Covid right here on site.

The hope is we can catch illness early, and if they are healthy, we can provide medication and get them back to class. If they do confirm illness, we can send them home with a diagnosis and a prescription will be called into your preferred pharmacy. Often, by the time you arrive to pick up your child, the visit is complete, and prescriptions are waiting at the pharmacy.

If you have Medicaid, there is no out-of-pocket cost for the visit.

If you don’t have insurance, don’t worry, the Goodside Health team can assist you in applying for the Goodside Cares program that allows you to pay a small sliding scale fee based on your income for the visit.

If you have private insurance, you are billed for a primary care office visit, or you won’t pay any more than you would to take your child to their pediatrician.
