Assisted by Halifax regional fire, conservation officers and lands and forests workers provide a softer landing for a falling black bear, that was tranquilized in a tree in the Dartmouth Commons September 19, 2024. An Air Canada Express Flight 2259 operated by Pal Airlines, is seen on a runway Halifax Stanfiield Airport December 28, 2024. The aircraft experienced what airport officials described as an "incident upon arrival" with its landing gear, from St. John’s, NL. Passengers and crew evacuated and were transported from the airfield and all escaped any serious injury. Flight operations at Halifax Stanfield were temporarily suspended on that runway as officials investigated the incident.
