Read the stories written by the pupils that reflect the school values. There's more—you can listen to the "Merthyr Forever" song, written by Santes Tudful Headteacher Lynne Rose-Jones, with music by Dafan Jones. The pupils have also created a video for the song 🎶

Augmented Reality Scene

Firstly tap onto the 'Four Squares' to choose from AR Assets that have been created for you to use. After giving permission to access the camera, you can enjoy the Augmented Reality scene builder. Tap the object you want to place in the scene and then use the yellow tracking tool to find the location where you want to place the image. When the yellow location tool turns to a complete yellow square you can tap the tick to place the object. When placed the object can then be moved and resized.

Location Tool

The children have created AR assets that you can place in the real world. This allows users to become part of the AR scene, giving them a scenario to speak Welsh. There is a video recording button that allows the AR scene and its users to be recorded as evidence for the class teacher.

Continuum of Welsh Language Patterns.

There are numerous green screen videos recorded by the pupils for you to use in the classroom. The videos are recorded in line with the Continuum of Welsh Language Patterns and are divided into progression steps.

Flash Cards

Digital flash cards have been created for the pupils to use in the classroom. First, choose a category and you will see the English word. Tap the Flip button to reveal the Welsh word, and then tap 'Cymraeg' to listen to a pupil saying the word in Welsh..

Hot Seat Questions

There are both audio and text questions for the pupils and teachers to use during Hot Seat tasks. The questions are designed to allow the pupils to practice answering questions that visitors to the school could use to assess the standard of Welsh. Turn this into a fun game in the classroom or allow the pupils to work individually.

Quiz

Time to test your knowledge of the Welsh language in school with a fun quiz. Who will get the highest score?

Minecraft Scenes

Download the Minecraft world to your device and enjoy exploring the world that the pupils have built for you. You will discover NPCs who are speaking Welsh for you to read and perhaps answer questions. Your teacher may ask you to add to these worlds and create your own NPCs who speak Welsh.

Pwy ydyw? Who is it?

Time to play a game with a friend or as a whole class and see if you can guess the chosen character. First, tap the Mystery Card button to get your mystery character created by the pupils. Then it's time to ask questions about clothing in Welsh to your partner. Instead of flipping a card, just press the card and it will disappear. Press the Reset Game button to start a new game.

Scripts

Are you a teacher looking for Welsh language scripts to use in the classroom? We have created a number of scripts that you can use. You have the option to copy the script and paste it into another app, where you can modify the text to include the pupils' names. Please remove the English text if required. The scripts have been created in line with the Progression Steps for you to use in the class. They could also be used for comprehension tasks.
