Dear Church,

Metro Tabernacle Most Valuable Assets!

“Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover, it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.”1 Cor 4:1-2

“Of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God, which was given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God, the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints.” Col 1:25-26

We just had our Leadership Community Meeting 1 on the 28th of January. I have always given this gathering one of my highest priorities because it is the gathering of Metro Tabernacle’s most valuable assets – “those who serve”. They are the men and women, boys and girls who have dedicated themselves to serve God by serving the congregation in different ministries and capacities. I thank God for every one of them.

In any Church, there are those who….

• Do not want to serve at all.
• Serve and see themselves only as volunteers.
• Serve as an opportunity to do good.
• Serve as an avenue to express their talents and gifts.
• Serve out of religious obligations.

The apostle Paul sees serving God as a privilege entrusted by God to us. He calls serving stewardship, Stewardship means we are not the owner but we are the manager of the ministry and the opportunity has been given to us.

Serving in Church is more than doing something to others and for ourselves, it is allowing the Holy Spirit to use us as channel of God’s love and power. The apostle Peter writes,

“As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.” 1 Peter 4:10-11

You are Metro Tabernacle’s most valuable asset. God does not bless or anoint systems, tools, or methodologies but people. If God has planted you in this Church, He wants to supply what is needed through you so that the church will spiritually mature and be Christlike.

“From whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.” Eph. 4:16

You are important! You are needed! You have something that this family needs. Start serving the family today if you have not done so.
