Dear Parents and Carers,
Our Year 13 A-level students, Year 11 GCSE pupils have finally completed their formal examinations. Many congratulations to them all – it has been a long period of hard work for them all. They have shown such admirable dedication to their studies this year and have demonstrated resilience in bucketloads! I am very proud of them and I hope that their hard work pays off with results that they can be proud of in the summer.
Year 11 pupils who have been offered a conditional place at Baylis Court Sixth Form will be invited to join us for the Induction Day later this term on Friday, 4 July. This is an important opportunity for students to familiarise themselves with sixth form life, meet future peers, and experience their chosen subjects.
This week, Year 10 pupils have also reached the end of their assessment period. They have adapted well to a more formal timetable, sitting some examinations in the exam hall in preparation for next year. We look forward to sharing their assessment grades with them soon.
Students in Year 12 and pupils in Year 10 have engaged in work-related learning recently. Year 12s arranged work-experience placements for a week, while Year 10s participated in an enriching Business Insight Day, which involved visits to various workplaces within our local community. These experiences provided them with authentic, real-world perspectives on business operations and career pathways. Such experiences are invaluable in broadening our pupils' understanding of the professional world and helping them make informed decisions about their future academic and career choices. The enthusiasm and engagement demonstrated by our pupils during these visits was exemplary; we have received wonderful feedback about some of our pupils who have been ‘a real asset’ to the work placements they have contributed to during the week. I am grateful to the local businesses and organisations who generously opened their doors to support our young people. If you are linked to an organisation who could offer a work-placement for a Year 12 student next year, please share your details with Mr Brown (Head of Sixth Form).
Year 12 parents and carers attended Consultation Evening this week on Thursday. This important event provides an excellent opportunity for parents and carers to engage directly with teaching staff, discussing progress, achievements, and future aspirations. Thank you to all who families who attended to support their young person approaching their final year with us, next year.
The PE department and pupils have enjoyed participating in rounders tournaments, a cricket festival and also in an exciting Quad Kids event. You will read more about this within the body of the newsletter.
The warm weather is set to continue for next week, although temperatures are expected to be cooler than this week. Given this, pupils will not be required to bring their blazers to school for next week. However, I must emphasise an important point regarding our uniform policy: if your child chooses to leave their blazer at home, the optional school jumper must not be worn; this is an item which can be worn if the shirt and blazer does not provide adequate warmth for your child. The jumper is not a replacement for the school blazer. If your child is choosing to leave her blazer at home, please remind her to pin her school badges to her shirt to ensure that she can access the Dining Room with the rest of her year group at the scheduled time.
Lastly, please ensure that your child attends school with a refillable water-bottle during this warm weather to ensure that they can stay hydrated during the day.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership in your child's education.

A Big Thank You to Our Y7 and Y8 Students!
A huge thank you to all of our Y7 and Y8 students who took part in the Junior Mathematical Challenge 2025! Your enthusiasm and commitment were outstanding, and it was great to see so many of you dive into the challenge with such excitement.
Your participation not only shows your passion for mathematics but also reflects the strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills you’ve been developing. Whether you answered every question or took part simply for the experience, you should all be incredibly proud of your efforts.
We encourage everyone to continue nurturing your love of maths in the future. Well done from Mrs Rouz
Faye Naim in Year 7 wowed her group with her amazing oracy project. Please take the time to read and reflect on the poem she created to voice her views and which made her classmates burst into applause.
Well done Faye!
Littering and recycling in Slough.
Our Community needs help.
To help encourage recycling to bring down litter in Slough, I have created a poem.
Keep Slough Clean
Litter on the pavement, blowing in the breeze, Clogging up the rivers, harming birds and trees. Bins stand empty, rubbish on the ground, Plastic, cans, and paper scattered all around.
But what if we recycled, gave waste a new start? Turned old things to new things, played our part? A bottle, a can, a newspaper too, Can all be reused—it's easy to do!
Slough can shine if we all try, No more rubbish piling high. So don’t just drop it, do what’s right, Keep Slough clean, keep it bright!
