Dear Families,
The weeks are flying by at the moment. This week has been a very busy week in school, yesterday we held our whole school transition day. We welcomed new pupils and Mrs Louisa Jones to our school and everyone who moved up to their new class had an enjoyable day. Year 6 have been attending St Joseph's all week and we are looking forward to hearing about their new experiences on Monday.
Next week is going to be just as exciting with Year 5/6 are visiting Llangollen Eisteddfod, Foundation Phase are visiting Greenacres Animal Park and the Juniors are participating in a Sponsored Walk to Nant Mawr.

Tuesday 2nd July - Parent's Forum
The next meeting of the Parents Forum will be held on Tuesday 2nd July at 9am in the School Hall . This will be an informal opportunity to meet with Mr Williams and a member of the governing body over a cup of tea or coffee.
Wednesday 3rd July - Sports Day
We are very excited to invite parents and families to our Sports Days next week. Friends and families are invited to come and support the children in their races, but please be advised to bring a chair or picnic blanket. Please use the gate in the car park to enter the field. Gates open at 9:00am and 12:45pm.
The Friends of Minera will be serving drinks and strawberries & cream. Last year this was a very popular with everyone.

I would like to thank Mrs Davies (Parent of Matilda) for the kind donation of £100 to purchase the refreshments for Sports Day.
We ask that children come into school wearing their PE kit for Sports Day, and if possible wear the colours of their house:
If you are unsure of which house your child is in please contact your child's class teacher.
The weather is looking unsettled for Sports Day but fingers crossed the forecast improves. If Sports Day is postponed we will let you know as early as possible and the reserve date is Tuesday 9th July
Thursday 4th July - General Election Day
As you are aware the school hall is being used as a Polling Station for the General Election on Thursday 4th July. This is the second time the school has been used a Polling Station this term and as an alternative to home learning children will be taking part in the following off-site activities:
- Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will be visiting Greenacres Animal Park in Mancot
- Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 will be taking part in a sponsored walk to Nant Mill
As well as the off-site activities, a number of operational changes will happen on 4th July:
- Breakfast Club and After School Club will be open as usual and will be located in the Junior Classrooms. Please use the yellow door to drop off and pick up children.
- School dinners will not be available. If you wish to order a packed lunch, please order through Parent Pay by Monday 1st July.
Friday 5th July - Training Day
School will be closed on Friday 5th July for a Staff Training Day.
Friday 12th July - Summer Fair
We're hoping for some good weather so that we can hold this event outdoors with a bouncy castle and lots of fun stalls. We will also be selling cakes, hot dogs, sweets and ice-pops. We would appreciate your usual donations of toys, books, nearly new items, etc.
Thank you for all your donations of items for our raffle and tombola. Raffle tickets will be sent out on Monday 1st July.
Finally....please come along on the day. Entry is £1 per adult, free entry for children. Doors open at 2.30pm. Juniors will finish earlier at 3:00pm.
Thank you all for your support. If you are free on the day to help to set up from 1pm and/or run a stall please let us know.
Thursday 18th July - Leaver's Service
We are looking forward to welcoming you to our Leavers' Service at 9:15am on Friday 14th July in the school hall. You are also invited to join us in class for refreshments afterwards.

Thank you to the parents who have recently signed up for easyfundraising. If you haven't yet signed up simply scan the QR code on the banner on the school playground then you're ready to shop online and make us some money! The last month has seen the biggest amount raised to date - an incredible £136.71 and there is lots more to come from holiday bookings made online through Tui, booking.com, Haven and lots more.
