2025 Michigan Tech Football Season Preview

Michigan Tech was voted fifth and collected 28 points in the 2025 GLIAC Football Preseason Poll, finishing three points back from Davenport and 10 points behind Saginaw Valley State, who earned one first-place vote.

The Black & Gold are fresh off the 2024 season which saw Michigan Tech get to seven wins for the first time since 2015 under second-year head coach Dan Mettlach, finishing in a three-way tie for third in the GLIAC with Saginaw Valley State and Davenport, playing to an overall record of 7-4 and 4-3 in the loop.

MTU will host five home games at Kearly Stadium, kindled by a Thursday Night season opener against Bemidji State fresh off an NCAA Tournament run that ended in the quarterfinals on Aug. 28, GLVC affiliate Upper Iowa on Sept. 20, before turning to GLIAC play welcoming Ferris State Oct. 18, Roosevelt Nov. 1 and Saginaw Valley State on Nov. 15 for Senior Day.

Michigan Tech polled at No. 5 in the 2025 GLIAC Football Coaches' Preseason Poll, just three points behind Davenport. The Huskies tied the Panthers and SVSU for third place in the conference in 2024.
