United Lodge encapsulates the very best of 21st Century contemporary Freemasonry evolved from its 167 year old history. The "United Way" has served Colchester Freemasons through camaraderie, fun, charitable giving and a whole lot more over many years.

We're also the spiritual birthplace of "Inebriatis" an online group promoting "Raiding" aka visiting with gusto founded in 2012.

Whether it's United's great freemasonry or great ideas to help promote enjoyment of the craft, United members from now all walks of life contribute to our favourite hobby.

What is Freemasonry?

We are a unique members’ organisation which has thrived for over 300 years. Having no political or religious affiliations, we comprise members of all ages, races, religions, cultures and backgrounds. We gather in our individual Lodges throughout the country where we have ceremonial traditions which encourage us both to be more tolerant and respectful and actively to fulfil our civic and charitable responsibilities; we also make time to eat, drink and meet together, and form lifelong friendships.”.

Situated in central, Colchester at St. Johns Green, the Centre exists to serve the Masonic community of Colchester and its surrounding areas. It is also a rich part of the town's historic heritage with artefacts dating to the time of the Siege of Colchester.
