This week, we started our STEM sessions led by the NUFC Foundation. Session 1 was about the meaning of STEM and the stereotypes associated with it. We had to compete a quiz where we had to say whether statements were true or false and we were really successful with it. One of the scientists we were told about was Mae Jemison, which we knew about from our reading sessions related to Black History Month.
We are looking forward to next week’s session.
This week, also saw our first cricket session with coach Dan. We thoroughly enjoyed it and played lots of games to build our teamwork skills. We were awarded points in the games which involved throwing a bean bag into a target square and landing the bean bag on a cricket bat. We were proud when we collected points for our team.
