The work presented in Visual Voices for Positive Change is an exhibition created by Marian University students at the Indiana Women’s Prison (IWP) through the partnership with Women’s College Partnership (WCP) and Notre Dame Programs for Education in Prison (NDPEP).
In these courses students learn that creative work is not made in a vacuum but instead it is influenced by historical events, culture, technology, politics etc. Visual Voices for Positive Change contains artwork created to bring awareness to social injustices in our world. The incarcerated students who created the artwork have brilliant voices, and through their creative work these brilliant voices are no longer muted.
