Congratulations to the cast of "The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane". They competed in the AISD One-Act Play competition and did an outstanding job on stage and behind the scenes. The judges were incredibly impressed by the entire ensemble. They received an award for Outstanding Play of the day! They also received some individual awards: Best Play Best Performer: Jeffrey Carlton; All-Star Performers: Manolo Torres and Lucas Martin; Honorable Mention: Zariyah Dennis; Best Tech: Harper Brown; Best Understudy: Kelsey Erlandsen. Congratulations to these students and their directors Mrs. Garza and Mr. Fitzgerald.
Some of our AVID students and our House Council had the opportunity to hear from Ms. Tillie Burgin, the founder of Mission Arlington about her life of service to the community. It was a privilege for these kids to get to visit with a local legend! They are excited about the difference they can make and looking forward to an opportunity to serve themselves! Stay tuned for more information on that.
On Tuesday morning morning, the 7th Grade Boys Basketball team attended the Medal of Honor Character Playbook presentation at AT&T Stadium. On stage were: US Army Retired Captain Florent "Flo" Groberg- Medal of Honor and Bronze Star Recipient US Navy Retired Captain Chris Cassidy - Retired Navy Seal and Astronaut. Bronze Star Recipient Charlotte Jones - Executive VP of the Dallas Cowboys Dak Prescott - Dallas Cowboys Quarterback and 2022 Walter Payton Man of the Year Also joining remotely was: Cooper Kupp - Wide Receiver LA Rams. Coach Foulks said "I can honestly say that I am very proud of the boys, and you could see in their eyes, that the message that was being delivered was received. I look forward to watching these young men demonstrate these ideals in and out of the classroom and becoming role models on our campus."
