"Oh, and now a song from an album I think is impeccable. Clara Kent has an amazing voice. She writes important and emotive lyrics. This exceptional talent out of Pittsburgh deserves 110% of your attention. I’m crying, I’m swooning with emotion, I’m grinning like a Tom cat who just discovered a succulent treat. This is so damn powerful. Do not hesitate, put The Four Winds: East on repeat play and allow Ms. Kent to work her inescapable magic."
Clara Kent recently released the first installment of her new series of Eps called The Four Winds. Inspired by the Lakota Medicine Wheel, the new records represent Clara’s musical tribute to transformation and act as a vibrant love letter for Black and Indigenous women.
"The Four Winds: East plays like one long, enthralling song. It’s a wholeheartedly beautiful record, incorporating call-and-response and gospel elements, poetic interludes, reverberating instrumentation, striking bridges, and hypnotic beats with the personal, introspective touch of Kent’s songwriting. The six-track project, with production from Virgil Richmond, Julian Ware, and Sullivan, is intended to “honor the Medicine Wheel and the seasons we all experience in this life”

Letting Go (Extended Version) - Directed by Shot by Nehemiah

"THE FOUR WINDS" is a four-part EP series inspired by the Medicine Wheel. Each EP represents one part of the Wheel; East-Spring, South-Summer, West-Autumn, and North-Winter. They all hold significance around mortality, emotions, spiritual healing, and the ancestral connection to the elements and seasons. Clara used this ancient tool as a muse to express her intimate experiences over the last seven years as a Black Indigenous Woman. The series is her way of creating a musical tribute to her transformation and a love letter for Black & Indigenous Womxn. The Four Winds: EAST is heavily inspired by her Baptist roots, building a sanctuary for anyone seeking freedom from within. Join Clara Kent as she embarks on the journey of the Red Road, revealing with each release her growth as an artist and human being.
