FROM THE Principal’s Desk
Dear Bluejay Family,
I wanted to take a moment to reflect on our recent celebration of All Saints Day, a day that beautifully emphasizes the diversity of saints who walked this earthly journey before us. Each saint, with their unique experiences and perspectives, serves as a profound reminder of the ways in which we are called to live our lives. Their stories serve as a meaningful backdrop for this weekend's gospel reading from Matthew 23.
In the gospel, Jesus emphasizes the significance of humility and authenticity. He admonishes the scribes and Pharisees for their lack of genuine practice of their teachings. This serves as a powerful reminder for all of us, urging us to lead by example in educating our children. It underscores the importance of our actions, rooted in the virtues of humility, sincerity, and love, which speak volumes.
Parents hold a pivotal role as the primary and most influential teachers in children's lives. Their words, actions, and attitudes mold children's understanding of the world and relationships with others. As parents, we strive to speak and act in truth and love. Loving one another doesn't imply always being in agreement, but how we handle our differences should still stand as a testament to our faith and unity in Christ.
May God's grace continue to guide us in creating a nurturing environment for our children to thrive. May we lead with humility, sincerity, and love. Let us emulate the saints who paved the way before us, allowing our actions to resonate and align with our words.
Grace and Peace,
Erin B. Henry
Principal

Dear Bluejay Family,
Our SCS Cross Country team is the only group still actively competing as of this bulletin. The team competed in the third and final Ascension Episcopal Meet of the season. It was also our 8th Grade presentation. Our departing Bluejays were given a heartfelt sendoff. They were led by Miles Schoenfeld who finished top 10 in the boys. He received a commemorative shirt for his hard work. Next week is a busy week for our Bluejay runners. They compete in the League Championship and the State Championship on Monday and Saturday respectively. They will conclude their season with a movie night in the gym with reflection, food and fun.
Basketball has practiced this week in the gym and will continue until games begin the last week of November. The basketball league scheduling meeting will be Monday. Our soccer teams are about to hit the practice field this week.
Continuing on the running front, click the link below to register for the Broussard Community Fair 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run. We are looking to eclipse the number of runners from last year, and show how fast our Bluejays are!
We would like to remind everyone of our policy for participating in extracurricular activities after school. As stated in the student handbook on page 51, "If a student is absent 3/7 or more of instructional time, he/she may NOT participate in after-school activities that day without special permission from the administration." This includes, but is not limited to, team practices or games, club meetings, and special school events.
Championship gear and banners are being finalized. As soon as they are available for order, I will provide the details. Thank you for your support of SCS Athletics! To keep up with the schedule for our Bluejays, please follow the link below.
Have a blessed day,
Scott Boudreaux
