The Beginning

4 years ago was unexpected. An around the way girl from Trenton used to busy schedules, guarded emotions, and fast-paced living, she wasn’t looking for love especially not with a country kid who preferred baseball stadium lights over street lights. Their connection started simply, with honest conversations and no need to pretend. He didn’t play games or hide behind charm; he just showed up consistent, transparent, and real. She found comfort in his calm, and he admired her drive, her honesty, and her independence. Over time, they learned to trust through open communication and mutual respect. He helped her slow down and appreciate small moments; she encouraged him to dream consistently and be bold. Together, they found balance between urban and country, past hurt and new beginnings. What started as friendship turned into a genuine partnership built on honesty, trust, and the kind of love neither expected to manifest.

The Proposal (ikyfl)

The proposal wasn't super glamorous or strategic. I purchased the ring two months prior and a I planned to propose when Monet's best friend came down for thanksgiving with everyone there. It was elaborate and thought out but when Monet let me know that they were not going to be able to make it down. We had holiday pictures scheduled and I knew then how I needed to shift gears. I thought about the identity that we had created during out courtship very mirroring of calm, connective, and patient. I wanted to make it intimate. So I spoke to the best photographer in the city and he helped me quickly come up with a vision for the proposal. The picture does not do the reaction justice, maybe we can share that on the big day just know the insider is in parenthesis!! Y'all, she said yes and I've been so ecstatic every since! I'm marrying my best friend y'all and it feels amazing!
