Welcome to my Digital Portfolio!
This Portfolio features all of my work from my 8th-grade digital photogarphy class!
This is my first-ever digital photography class! I love taking photos on my phone, but learning how to use a Nikon camera is very new for me. I am learning how to shoot, edit, and put together visually intriguing images. I am excited to learn about capturing images from different angles and how to edit them on various platforms.
PROJECT ARTWORK
For my Explore Project, I edited 5 images that I shot in the Photography Studio here at Bumpus! My assignment included having to choose our top 5 singular shots, and edit them to the best of our abilities. I really loved learning about editing techniques. Some of the include: removing the background, blending images into each other, as well as making certain parts of an image pop! My favorite image of the group is the largest image in the collage. I love how the red, teal, and pink colors compliment eachother. I also love how the background has a watercolor effect!
For the GTK Project, we were required to capture at least 25 different images. We were given a sheet with 25 different categories that 1 image must fit into. We chose our 15 top images for a collage, and also submitted our 10 other edited photos! Some effects used on this project include layer effects, overlay filters, and more! I loved getting to shoot both in the studio and outside at school for this project. It allowed me to express my creativity with different settings. I used my Nikon COOLPIX camera to shoot each photo, along with editing software such as Adobe Photoshop and PIXLR. Out of every photo in my collage, the middle photo is my favorite (it is listed under the collage). In this image, I love the vibrant pink of the rose and the blush, as well as the contrasting dark background.
The Gen A.I. project allowed us to use Adobe Photoshop to create five images with at least six A.I. elements. Of the five images, four had A.I. elements added to photos that I personally took. One image made entirely from Generative A.I. I used many descriptive words to specifically work my way around A.I.'s limitations. My favorite image is the largest image down below. I love this image because of the 3D elements and the contrasting colors of the black and white elements. The purple really creates a pop-star theme, along with the model and her attire.
For the WIP project, we were asked to think outside of the box and create words out of shapes and designs that we found in different places! Each word (2 words in total) was expected to have 6+ characters. We combined the letters to form words on Adobe Photoshop after we edited each individual letter. We shot photos outside and in the studio here at Bumpus! I created the words, "Addison" and "Dream". The "Addison" word is my favorite, because I love the bright and fun colors. I also love the use of the human eye as the letter "I" in the middle of the portrait!
The top 20 collage mini-project was a project where we were required to edit and organize 20 of our best images into a collage. We place each personally-captured image on a custom background. I layered images and used different effects to make the image colors stand out! I used cool-toned images on the left side of the collage, and warm-toned images on the right side of the collage!
In the Picto Project, we were asked to edit 3 personally-captured images in Adobe Photoshop. We had to include a new technique in editing using different filter styles. The first image listed below had to include 5 or more subjects, with 5 or more filters. The second image had to include an image of you with an artist filter applied over it. The last photo included one subject with 8 different filters included into the single collage. This collage is my favorite photo because I like the editing techniques I used, and the "text tool" elements.
For the EAPD project, we were sent out to shoot 21 different photos that follow the 7 different Elements of Art. All of the image range from form, shape, texture, space, color, value, and lines. 3 individual images for each element were edited and placed onto a small 5x5 square grid. Each square features the title, and definition of the element. The 7 different grids were placed onto a larger poster to create the Elements of Art. My favorite element square is "Form". I like the color options and images shown on it! Below, my individual pictures from all 7 categories are shown, and the final collage!
For the COMP TECH project, we were asked to shoot 20 different images following 10 different categories. These images took time and planning in order to get the components needed. Within 3 shooting days, we went outside and in the studio to capture these images. After all 20 were captured and placed into their categories, we had to option to use blending modes for either 5 images of 3, or 3 images of 5 layers. I ended up choosing to do 5 images with 3 layers blended into eachother. Out of all of the images, my favorite photo is the first blended final image. I love the galaxy element and shadow of the girl. I also love the purple color!
TUTORIAL PROJECT
For this project, we were asked to find 5 Photoshop Effect Tutorials online and then choose 2 to follow step-by-step. After following the tutorials, I made 2 final product images. I chose to make the first image by learning how to develop transparent words on Adobe Photoshop. For the second image, I learned to make cutouts and frame cohesive elements of one of my pictures to create a cool illusion. My favorite image of the two is the second one listed below! I love the cool colors and white/black features.
