Please see the link above - Easy Fundraising can work for Birkwood!
Hands up who thinks that we have got to the May Bank Holiday extremely quickly? I promised the children they could have Monday off if they were good all week – obviously, this was teasing but I can report that they have been brilliant.
The children have felt the excitement of our Attendance Rewards this week. Well done to the class winners – a range of prizes were definitely enjoyed. Keep attending and good luck! The rules - every class will compete against another class in terms of highest attendance. Of course ties will be set by conducting an FA Cup Draw!
- The winner of ‘each match’ will receive a spin on our prize board wheel and a league table point.
- Each week the winning class from their match will receive a treat from the prize board.
- Every half term, the winning classes form the league table (EYFS2 & KS1, and a KS2) will have an opportunity to select a reward!
- Everyone is entered through their class draw into our FA Cup and simply by coming to school, good things will happen!
The results/standings will be posted in the usual attendance are of the newsletter, further down the page.
I wrote to families with RSE Information Dates. Please see the letter. This is an area of the curriculum that is sensitive. As always, I will share lesson materials to all parents via email in addition to the meetings that we have scheduled. Safety is the key message!
On the enjoyment theme, our Reception pupils had a wonderful trip to The Butterfly House. I can report high levels of excitement, superb behaviour and great examples of our 100% Respect Value. Thank you to all of the staff and volunteers who made a lovely day possible. Great work all round! As ever, this opportunity was subsidised thanks to the work on fundraising from bingo & discos and other events.
On the sporting front, last week’s football competition went perfectly. Our Year ¾ boys secured first place.
Today the Year ¾ Girls won two games in their Football Tournament – a great effort from all.
Thanks to Coach Marshall & Mr. Walton for their hard work
