PALETTE-SADE DESIGNED BY SHREETEJ PARKAR

DESIGN PROPOSAL

With Palette-Sade, I designed affordable housing that bridges New Orleans' layered history with its thriving artistic present. Inspired by the city's original palisade wall, I reimagined that historic boundary as a connective structure--one that no longer encloses, but opens. Located beside Studio Be and Eternal Seeds, the project features subsidized, studio-centric units for artists.

These homes are linked by stairways that echo the fort-like forms of the past, but instead of defending space, they invite collaboration and exchange. The stairs become shared spaces where art and community can thrive. I wanted this project to capture a moment of emergence--where art rises out of history and architecture supports creativity. Palette-Sade isn't just housing; it's a platform for expression, rooted in memory and built for possibility.
