Model

Artist statement:

As an actor, my mission is to create and tell stories that reflect the beauty, depth, and complexity of Black life, while striving to be a role model for young Black girls. I want to offer them the opportunity to see themselves in the characters they encounter everyday. I believe it's vital that Black children see their reflections in stories, not as side characters or caricatures, but as full, multifaceted individuals living dynamic lives.

Growing up, I didn’t always have that representation. There were very few main characters who looked like me, and even fewer who seemed to share the dreams, hopes, and challenges I knew intimately. This gap in representation sparked a desire in me to fill that void. I want to be a mirror and a guide for the next generation, showing young Black girls that their stories matter.

Ultimately, my goal is to help shape a future where Black children no longer feel they have to fight for their place in the narrative. I want them to know they’ve always been there, standing at the center of it all; capable, complex, and celebrated.

Through my craft, I hope to continue to create spaces where Black voices are heard, where Black people see their full humanity reflected, and where our stories of joy are told by those who live them.
