A LEADER | Senior Wesley Ramsey takes on his final year singing in the choir and believes that he found a place of belonging throughout the years. “I think I’ve been able to be a leader in the choir more than ever this year,” Ramsey said. “It provided an outlet for self expression at school and I’m surrounded by a ton of other kids who love the same stuff as me.”

TOGETHER WE SING | Singing alongside her choir peers, junior Eva Jarvi memorizes the music and performs it for the crowd. Despite the limited time to prepare for the concert, she felt the pressure of a tight deadline for this performance. “I think one big challenge was having enough time,” Jarvi said. “Especially because it is so soon after the musical so we definitely had to work hard for memorization and preparing for it.”

A MOMENT IN THE SPOTLIGHT | Senior Annie Cleland had the chance to perform a solo during the group song "These Bells Will Ring." Cleland believes this experience highlighted for her the importance of collaboration with her choir peers. “I feel like our performance went well,” Cleland said. “We all sounded great and blended really well together.”

FRIENDS MAKE THE HOLIDAYS SPECIAL | In a performance filled with many peers, freshman Ruby Tranchida believes that choir feels like a home rather than just a class. “I love that Choir can feel like family,” Tranchida said. “I truthfully feel that after this concert we’ve all become more acquainted with each other and have a stronger passion and friendship with each other.”

COWBOY CHRISTMAS | After a brief intermission, sophomore Ronan Smith and several of his choir peers performed the song, “Grandma's Killer Fruitcake.” Smith recognized the difficulty involved in dancing while singing. “It’s very, very hard to do both,” Smith said. “While singing music, your brain is telling you to either do one thing or the other, and it’s very hard to do both well.”
