Principal Message

Dear St. Paul Families,

This past week, our school community came together to participate in the Terry Fox Run. We are proud to share that we raised $524 for cancer research. Thank you to all the families who joined us—it was a beautiful morning and a meaningful way to gather in support of an important cause.

Looking ahead, this week our students who have signed up will be participating in the Elementary Cross Country Run at Rundle Park. We wish them all the best as they represent our school with energy and spirit.

We will also be turning our focus to Orange Shirt Day on September 30, a day of global conversation and reflection reminding us that Every Child Matters. Together, we will continue learning and growing in understanding.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Mrs. Carr-Jeschke & Mrs. McNamee

School Fees

Please submit payment for school fees, field trips, milk cards, etc., through the PowerSchool link HERE.

Start of the School Day

A reminder that for Kindergarten to Grade 6 students, our start time is 8:20 AM. Students should meet their teacher at their designated doors to be brought inside at this time.

Students who arrive late are asked to check in at the office; office staff will ensure students get to class.

As the school year is still new, we are working on helping students build their independence and confidence in the school setting. We kindly ask that parents do not accompany students to their classrooms. All visitors are asked to stop at the office upon arrival so that we are aware of who is in the building at all times. If you need assistance, our office staff will be happy to help. Should you wish to connect with your child’s teacher, please email them directly to arrange a meeting time or phone call.

Please see this article for tips on helping your child settle into a new school year.

ECSD Cross Country Run

We are excited for the Cross Country run that will be taking place on Monday September 22, 2025. All students who have signed up will be bussed to the event.

Parents are responsible for pick up at Rundle Park. Please be there by 4:30 pm latest or join us to cheer on all of our participants for 3pm!

Teacher Bargaining & Potential Labour Disruption

For information regarding ATA bargaining, as well as questions as to how a potential strike could impact ECSD families, please visit the ECSD Page HERE. Also included on the page are a number of Frequently Asked Questions for families. ECSD remains hopeful that an agreement can be reached without disruption to teaching and learning.

Need to report a student absence? Recieve up to date communication from the Division? ECSD uses the SchoolMessenger system. Download the app, visit the website, or call in anytime. It's a quick and convenient way to keep your school informed. Find all the details at ecsd.net/reportingabsences.

St. Paul Wellness Dog

Hello, my name is Briga! I am a 6 year old labrador retriever and the newest member of the St. Paul community. I belong to Mrs. Carr-Jeschke. I will be at the school a few times a month. I am a certified wellness dog with CAAWLS.

As a wellness/therapy dog, my role is to improve mental health and wellness through my interactions with people. I will provide comfort, support and companionship for students and staff in the school community. I do my best to help reduce stress, anxiety and spread "pawsitivity" around the school.

When you see me, make sure you say hello and give me some pets throughout the school day! Also, I understand if you are nervous, or don't want to meet me- that is fine too!

I am very excited to meet everyone in the St. Paul community. If you have any concerns about me meeting your child in the school, please contact the school office.

Nut Free School

A reminder that our school, and each individual classroom is nut free. We have many student and staff allergies in our school. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping every child and adult safe.

Nut free includes not only peanuts, but tree nuts as well- almonds, brazil nuts, cashews, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, pine nuts, pistachios and walnuts. Nutella is a popular snack, but contains hazelnuts and thus is dangerous for individuals with nut allergies.

Please ensure that if your child has a nut allergy and requires medication that you see Mrs. Lee in the office to fill out the medical forms.

Thank you for your support!

Student Pick Ups/Drop Offs

When dropping off/picking up students, please use the designated drop off zones. These are 96 Ave (in front of the school) and 145 Street (the west side of the school).

Please DO NOT use the staff parking lot for student drop offs or pick ups. There are a lot of blind spots and staff vehicles, along with Division vehicles, coming in and out of the lot. This creates a very unsafe environment for students to be walking through.

Please choose safety over convenience and use marked cross walks and drop off zones to ensure students arrive safely to and from school.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Happy Weekend!
