Microsoft & Adobe Certifications

Teesside University is offering students and staff the opportunity to gain Microsoft & Adobe certifications. These courses are self-directed study with the option to sit the test at no cost to you; please note there are no resit options available. Please find below the certification paths that are currently available.​​

Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Office 365/2019

Microsoft Office Specialist certification is an internationally recognised qualification to demonstrate you have the skills and expertise to proficiently use the Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access & Outlook). Build your confidence and gain invaluable knowledge to become efficient within your studies & w​orkplace using the features and functions of Microsoft Office applications.

Adobe Certified Professional (ACP)​

The future belongs to those who create. Whether it’s to inform, persuade, entertain, or inspire, success in the digital age means communicating in visually rich and interactive ways. With a firm grasp on the world’s most powerful creative tools, Adobe Certified Professionals are ready to make their mark.

Adobe Certified Professional is the industry-recognized certification that demonstrates mastery of Adobe Creative Cloud software and must-have knowledge for digital media careers. Each exam is integrated with an Adobe application and designed by experts, allowing for an authentic assessment of job-ready skills.

Microsoft Certified Fundamentals​ (MCF)

Microsoft Certified Fundamentals (MCF) will put you on the path to successful future careers in artificial intelligence (AI), data science and cloud computing.

The future of computing is in the cloud, and the cloud is growing – fast! Whether it’s data storage, web hosting, CRM management, or online productivity tools, companies are looking for trained individuals who understand the benefits of the cloud, and they’re not finding them quickly enough.

Similarly with the usage of big data and artificial intelligence on the rise, the demand for data scientists is not being met—and the gap is widening

​Microso​ft Certified Educator (MCE)

Primarily aimed at academic members of staff and future educators, the certification is validation of your global technology competencies required to facilitate 21st century learning using Microsoft's “21 CLD" framework and professional tools.

MCE certification demonstrates you can combine innovative ideas and technological skills to provide dynamic learning experiences for learners using Microsoft tools.

Accessing Learning Materials

You can access the learning materials via Microsoft Teams, click Join or create a team below your teams list and look for the Join a team with a code option.​ Please join the Team using the following code: 6pnn32q

Having joined the Team, look for the certification you are interested in, in the channel list and click the Files tab to find the relevant information for the course. Please also view the posts tab for announcements.​

How do I sign up and approach the TU Certifications Scheme

Step 1 - watch the recorded session below

Follow the guidance in the recorded session to join the teams site and access the learning materials including the GMetrix practice environment which will help you prepare for the exam. Only book on to an exam slot once you are ready to sit an official exam.

Step 2 - Booking a Test

Exams from Home

All exams are delivered remotely and are accessed via a secure link emailed to you. If you prefer you can sit your exam in a suitable space on a PC on campus. If you decide to use a PC on campus the secure exam link software needs to be saved to downloads folder and ran.

Official exam slots are released on a weekly basis every Wednesday for the week ahead, 7 day lead time. The time availability is every Wednesday at 13.00 & 15.00. We can accommodate 15 candidates per session and slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please use the booking system to book your test session.​

When making a booking you must choose the specific exam you would like to sit; this cannot be changed. To ensure a smooth and successful exam login please read the test candidate guide, it is important that you fully read this to understand what to expect when accessing a remote exam from home including minimum computer requirements.

All exam links will be emailed on the morning of your scheduled exam day to your University email address. If you do make a booking and subsequently cannot attend, please can you ensure you self-manage and cancel your booking via the confirmation email you will have received, this will free up the slot to allow someone else to make a booking.

Please note if you book a test session and fail to attend without a valid reason you could loose access to any future bookings.
