Survivor 101 What everyday life skills are needed for basic survival and how can we learn to use them?

Students in this project will be introduced to a variety of life skills that are often overlooked in today's world. If we lost electricity for a week, would you have the skills necessary to continue to live and thrive? What if you had no access to running water? Throughout the week, students will learn strategies regarding basic first aid, how to find and purify water, how to find food safely, and how to be prepared for a variety of disasters.

Day 1

It was a great first day. We started by building models of different shelter types and doing a design challenge. Then went outside and built some actual shelters.

Fire! Yes, today we explored different ways of building and starting fires.

Day 3

Today was an exciting day studying how to feed ourselves in the wilderness of NH. We learned what plants we can eat and which are poisonous. We also created some small traps in case we needed to catch game. No animals were harmed in the making of this Project Week.
