Each of the modules will comprise of some on-campus (mainly Avery Hill and Greenwich Maritime) learning opportunities (just 2 days per term) ...

... provided by a range of expert educators in teaching, learning and research; state-of-the-art forensics and simulation; advanced clinical practice; mental health; criminology; nursing and paramedic science. We will also be drawing on experts from your respective fields of practice.

The main teaching and learning provision, however, for the majority of the weekly study days, will be through live, on-line, teaching, supplemented by some asynchronous learning weeks (i.e. when learning materials will be provided on Moodle on a Monday, for students to work through at a time convenient to them, throughout that week).

A key element of the whole learning process:

The UKAFNP Competencies Document is the student's own work-based learning record, demonstrating and assessing their "knowledge, skills and attitudes as well as reflection on key issues relating to the achievement of the competencies". The achievement of these competencies is under the supervision / preceptorship or an approved mentor, an essential requirement to gain the UKAFNP ASET certificate.

Teaching and learning provision delivered live, on-line, and through numerous asynchronous and self-directed opportunities.

The programme was designed in such a way as to keep on-campus learning to an absolute minimum, for the expert simulation activities only, respecting the fact that students will be enrolled from right across the UK and Northern Ireland, thus cutting down on travel, accommodation and associated expenses!

Creative digital literacy will be embedded throughout our teaching, learning and assessment (TL&A) processes, with inspirational and innovative educators enabling students to advance their practice, disseminate their learning to peers and continue their academic journey further.

The PGCert relates to a number of other academic post graduate programmes, in Health Care Practice (PGDip and MA), Advanced Clinical Practice (MSc) and Genders, Sexuality and Criminology (MSc).
Are you wondering about the assignments?

The assignments incorporate specific requirements from UKAFNP and the University of Greenwich, and are designed to be authentic (i.e. relevant to your world of work and studies), compassionate and equitable - doing our very best to remove inequity and 'level the playing field', giving everyone a personal chance of excelling and doing their very best. The assignments also help you boost your academic citizenship, i.e. claiming your place in the world of learning and academia-for-practice.

The marked ("summative") assignments are all built on excellent instruction on how to achieve them, through the "formative", preparatory work.
