Student Government Forum Highlights Leadership and School Pride
Otselic Valley students gathered for the May Student Government Forum to share updates, reflect on the school year, and recognize the importance of student leadership. Student Government President Makenzy Reandeau delivered her farewell address, reflecting on the year's theme of "Pride in Ourselves, Pride in Our School, and Pride in Our Community" and thanking students for their participation and support throughout the year.
Student Representative to the Board of Education Josie Guernsey also provided information about the Student Representative position, explaining the responsibilities of the role and encouraging interested students to consider serving in the future.
Leadership Transition Marks the End of Another Successful Year
The forum also featured campaign speeches from candidates seeking positions on the 2026-27 Student Government Executive Team. Following the election, the newly elected officers were announced: President Makenzy Clemens, Vice President Izzy Neal, Secretary Eleanor Swayze-Epolito, and Treasurer Eli Shoemaker.
In addition, Student Government members presented Mrs. Thorp with a donation to the Tom Thorp Legacy Fund. The contribution was made possible through the design and sale of "Live Like Turbo Tom" stickers, which raised $169 in support of the fund.
The forum highlighted the positive impact of student leadership and the many ways OV students contribute to their school and community.
