This postcard design draws inspiration from the Outer Banks of North Carolina, a region whose coastal beauty has always captivated me. While I haven't yet had the opportunity to visit in person, I aimed to create a piece that captures the essence of this unique landscape. My goal was to achieve a professional aesthetic, and I'm pleased with the final result. I hope this postcard inspires viewers to explore the Outer Banks for themselves.
The sands of time flow through an hourglass in this piece, framing a scene of playful interaction between a young boy and an old man. This visual metaphor explores the idea that while the passage of time is unavoidable, the spirit of youth can endure. My intention was to convey this message through visual storytelling alone. While I recognize areas for further development, I believe the piece effectively communicates its core idea. I hope it lingers with viewers, reminding them that growing old is mandatory, but growing up is a choice.
This poster is a tribute to my friend's unique artistic style, which draws heavily from the world of Tim Burton. Based on her character, Cynthia, I aimed to create a movie poster that captured a similar darkly romantic aesthetic, reminiscent of Corpse Bride. By incorporating textures that suggest wear and tear, such as scratches and folds, I sought to create a sense of age and history. Ultimately, I hope it captivates viewers and leaves them wanting to see the movie.
For this piece, I reimagined the cover of my favorite childhood book, using paper as my medium. My goal was to create a design that felt both authentic and timeless. I aimed to create a cover that not only felt true to the narrative but also possessed the charm of a vintage edition. I'm confident the final piece successfully captures the spirit of the story, and I hope it inspires viewers to reminisce about their own treasured childhood reads.
