Divergent Book
I created this book cover with leather layering and the book cover was the book Divergent by Veronica Roth. While making this project I learned a lot how to add shadows to my and add textures to different objects. My goal was to make a project about a really good book, and put together a book cover that shows where Divergent takes place. I really liked how it turned out, there were several symbols included in this book cover, and I put them in there to add to the meaning of the book. I hope my audience will see my book cover and maybe be interested in reading the book, and for the people who have read this book, I hope they would understand some of the symbols included in this project like the symbol on the spine, the three birds flying, and the barbed wire.
Slipping Into Royalty Movie
I created a screen print movie poster; I made up a movie named Slipping Into Royalty. I learned a lot about how to add colors to images and give it a painted type of look. My goal when making this was to show some action and some adventure in this movie. I wanted to make the cover look like a fantasy-fiction movie. That is one of my favorite genres and so I really enjoyed making this project and I think I did well on it. I really like the top and bottom borders, I think it gives the poster a really nice look and fits well with the theme. I want my audience to see this poster and see adventure, fantasy, and maybe some sort of mystery as well.
Military Weight
I created a collage photo, with a bunch of different photos to bring about a message. I learned a lot about layer masks and blending. My goal was to show a military man holding the weight of what it’s like in the military and serving our country. I wanted to show the sacrifice that people in the military give up for our safety, and I think this is an important topic to remember. I feel ok about this project, I like the look of the rocks on top of the guys back and the photos inside them, but I’m not a fan of the background and the poor resolution of the guy. It was a bit difficult to try to blend the guy and the background together. I hope my audience sees that this man he is carrying the weight and pain of the reality of the military, and I hope people will understand just how important this is and that we should be very grateful for the people who fight for our freedom.
Daytona Beach, Florida Postcard
I created a vintage postcard from Daytona Beach, Florida. I learned most of the basics while making this very first project. My goal was to try my best to correctly make this project and add good details. I don’t feel the best about this project, mostly because it was my first one, but I just don’t think it turned out how I had hoped it would. The colors weren’t that great, and it was a bit difficult to add the images into the letters. I hope that my audience will see this postcard and be interested in the location and/or what is interesting about this place.
